    Pros

Decent benefits and cafeteria on the main campus. Product line is good and has few real competitors. Compensation for sales team is good. Great annual company party.

    Cons

Like most Silicon Valley companies, sales team comes first. Support groups are understaffed and stretched to the max. Doing as much with as few people works to a certain extent, but eventually people need a break. Pay is on par or a little below industry norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire enough support staff to supplement your sales.

    Pros

Being an enterprise software company, TIBCO is reinventing itself through innovative product. It has its group of talent people, as well as people just waiting for retirement. Overall the company has its growth, but won't at the speed compare to a startup.

    Cons

Not all processes are well defined.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could get more seasoned executives. Most of them are promoted internally.

    Pros

The technical knowledge and sharing of the knowledge among the field people is great. Just send an email with a question and you will get at least 10 responses by the end of the day. The products are leading edge that cause companies such as IBM to duplicate the message/products.

    Cons

The Club Awards for non-quota carrying people seem to be arbirtary based on how management feels that day. Management seems to make decisions without communicating to employees why the decision was made.

    TIBCO Tries harder

    Pros

TIBCO is a serious competitor to the much larger super players Oracle, SAP, IBM and as such places special emphasis on product and service performance and quality. This dynamic also lends an air or urgency and shared passion for success.

    Cons

TIBCO has a much higher degree of bureaucracy than is necessary for a mid sized company. The legal department is very ponderous and overly conservative (contracts revenue recognition) , there are a million systems for compensation, expenses, vacation etc, poorly supported by a provincial IT organization, Benefits choices are not great although at par but a reasonable team there. In all, these are a distant second to the pros above.

    Pros

The team atmosphere was great. Lots of collaboration between members of the dev team, QA and tech pubs. I loved the fact that I was able to pick projects or even pet projects to work on and management encouraged it.

    Cons

Management made a sudden shift in plans and dropped our latest work from the next product release. A month later they laid a bunch of us off due to the fact they don't have a plan.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Local management was outstanding, they were fair and forthcoming with information. The guys in Palo Alto are ghosts, never saw them. Did have a VP show up for one afternoon and he just reiterated what he had said in the last group video conference, not to impressed.

    Pros

Company has made presence in Integration space and quickly growing into CEP and BPM market which are hot cakes. Also it cares about employees getting trained and learn more.

    Cons

Not lot of room to move around. If you are in Professional service. Hence after couple of years you will feel your role redundant.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management should embrace and get ready to make big radical changes. Should get more aggressive in terms of company growth.
