I have been working at TJX Companies (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good work / life balance - Semi flexible work hours - competitive salary - not super competitive environment - nice new gym at the home office for very cheap monthly fee.

    Cons

    - stakeholders are still trying to figure things out and make seemingly emotional decisions that create more work for lower level employees. - many teams that should be working together just aren't, which also creates frustration and more work. - stakeholders hold, and exercise, ultimate control over the most minute details of projects and their opinions change depending on the mood their in. - it makes life much easier to just go along with stakeholders opinions even if what they're asking you to do doesn't make any sense. Questioning the status quo is useless and can even be met with being reprimanded.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more frequently with your teams what is going on in the bigger picture and also what things may be going on at the stakeholders level that will affect the teams every day workflow.

I have been working at TJX Companies (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, work schedule, flex time, work from home, industry leader.

    Cons

Hardly any turnover, so slow advancement. It is political, and the "diversity" is something that is kind of forced on you.

    Advice to Management

By celebrating certain alternative groups, you kinda alienate the mainstream. keep it non-political.

    Pros

The discount and first grabs on merchandise if I was lucky enough to see it in the stock room before it left the floor. Flexible schedule, nice people to work with/for.

    Cons

Low paying and unsatisfying work. No vacation time and the health benefits were not good at all. Worst part is I spent most of my paycheck there because of all the great finds!

I have been working at TJX Companies (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Great merchandise, management very helpful, flexible with work hours. Store works very hard to be neat and clean and the customers appreciate that.

    Cons

Low pay, they are hesitant to remove under-performing associates. Those that work hard every day don't receive financial or personal incentive to keep doing so.

    Pros

The company valued people and there seems to be a lot of opportunity within the company. There is room for advancement.

    Cons

The training is not the greatest and sometimes you may be overlooked if your results aren't where they should be. There is not a lot of consideration for level of difficulty between stores.

    Advice to Management

Drive for results and develop people and you will be golden. Also make sure you work on your political savvy.
