I have been working at TRW Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good engineering skilled / communication employee except for managements,
though only a few managements are good.
    I don't remember others..

    Cons

No valuable managements. They move only for own profit and never support the staff.
They goes on frequency travel to get a mijlage
at business class ,though they re not VPs.
They're provided iPhon, but we can never contact with the managements after5pm.They use it mainly for LINE and SNS.
They often goes to night club for the customer meeting. Is this true? I'm not sure it is For Custmmer or for private entertainment?

Internal Audit team or Helpline is no use...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider engineers as most important.
    TRW is not investment company.
    Should check the management'expense carefully.
There is a rumor Some managements may waste JP's money for own...in our country.

    Pros

    None! None! None! Slave drivers!

    Cons

Union is weak, a lot of rats. Slave drivers! Pay is horrible! They make you work 19 days straight including holidays ie... Good Friday, Memorial Day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't treat your employees like slaves.

I have been working at TRW Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Plenty of capable people who are willing to work in a team environment. Being such a large company, they can afford to invest in innovative concepts.

    Cons

Weak people-leadership from the very top ... creates atmosphere of mistrust, fear and inhibited creativity and problem solving....as well as fostering divisiveness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace the CEO with one capable of inspiring the organization...not just breeding fear throughout it! The culture feels toxic and demoralizing........and caters to the lowest common denominator at the expense of the talented majority and ultimately, the organization as a whole!

I have been working at TRW Automotive full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of over time, you need it when you don't make any money.

    Cons

Horrible hourly pay rates, out of date machines, dirty, lack of leader ship. Poor leader ship due to high turn over, to many un experienced team leaders, supervisors. Management just there to collect a paycheck. Horrible insurance with high out of pocket costs and high premiums. Can't get a better insurance plan for the 65,000 employees? Horrible work/ life balance, your home is just a place to store your stuff. 8 hours a day 7 days a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Were to even begin.....GOOD LUCK!

I have been working at TRW Automotive

    Pros

We do have some very friendly, upstanding people in management.

    Cons

Low wages ($12.01 for misc. assembly), short breaks ( 5 min, unpaid 20 min, and 5 min), $3,600 yearly insurance deductible, minimal vacation days (none the first year), no workplace communication, interaction training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If CEO John Plant earns $78 million, then I am a slave. I earn approx $25,000 per year and he earns approx 3000 times as much. Inadequate compensation (wages, breaks, and benefits) and high quotas have created a hostile work experience. Someday these wage disparities will be a crime and I will enjoy watching the guilty be held accountable.

    Cons

people laied off on friday and temps in their position the next monday, member of HR ownes part of a temp agent company, some temps makeing almost $2.00 more than perment people doing the same job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I dont think Mr Plant knowes of some of the things going on in the rogersville factory, the management needs to be under a microscope and try lisening to some of the people on the floor.

I have been working at TRW Automotive

    Pros

They are a fast-paced work environment that you can learn alot about electronics manufacturing. I learned alot about systematic problem solving procedures.

    Cons

I feel that you cannot trust the management team especially at the site I worked at. Not only do they lie to their employees, they lie to their customers. In recent salary layoffs, in a bordeline illegal fashion, they laid off more capable employees out concern that by laying off employees with more seniority would consume more of their restructuring money. During meetings, they clearly said that they wanted to void any litigation and to get rid of the junior employees. Because they continue to keep poor performers around, TRW Auburn's performance suffers. It is more based on not WHAT you know but WHO you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do the right thing and get rid of the dead weight...not the people that are actually giving you good results. Don't lie to employees.

I have been working at TRW Automotive as a contractor

    Pros

The people I worked with on my line were great to work with, in fact a lot of machine operators are very friendly people and work hard. Not a lot of heavy lifting.

    Cons

Very unfair treatment of employees. Ripping off their annual raise. Very cheap company to work for. Their machines are broken, and instead of fixing them properly they just "bandage" the situation and hope it goes away. The health and safety of employees is their last concern. The Metal working fluids they use to machine their parts is full of bacterias and mold, and makes a lot of employees ill. Their "union" is a joke. a waste of $60 a month. Use of contract employees, going through a process of hiring on contract employees full time, but seems very biased. Noticing a lot of women with low cut shirts getting hired. Already pissed of GM enough that they are not allowed to bid on new contracts with them, had to resort to BMW and keeping existing GM lines. Talk among a lot of employees on the floor about the plant possibly going under in a few years. Always running out of components and missing shipment, and management always blames the operators, when in reality, it's management not ordering enough components or not allowing proper maintenance of their machines, thus a lot of machine downtime!! Also, noticing some lines won't have any work all week, yet I see them get mandated every saturday. Totally wrong and should not be allowed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about you smarten the hell up before you all lose your jobs? learn to take care of your employees.
