    Pros

You definitely will get a crash course in LEAN manufacturing.

    Cons

Little to no support from management and HR. "Just shut up and do it or the door is right there" attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revisit the culture you had 10-15 years ago and maybe the talented and knowledgeable staff will remain.

    Pros

Good place to work to learn how to develop global communication skills and manage overseas suppliers.

    Cons

Recent downgrade in employee benefits has caused an exodus of employees over the past few years.
Employee compensation (base salaries) could be better. Communication problems within the organization.

I have been working at TRW Automotive

    Pros

The long time employees remember when it was locally owned.

    Cons

Leadership views long term employees as easily dismissed. This observation comes from seeing 20-40 year veteran engineers that cared deeply about the company & products being walked out like untrustworthy criminals.

I have been working at TRW Automotive full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Company has great employees and great unlocked potential. Highly skilled workforce. The working staff just need a better working working environment.

    Cons

Top management watches numbers and does not think that employees are a resource. No trust of employees to do the right thing, Lots of checks and balances that are insulting to the professionals that work for TRW. It used to be a great place to work. Stock price is up but not sustainable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit, move on, take your spoils and move on. Let the company prosper with proper non bean counting management. The CEO and top staff is over compensated taking value from share holders and employees.

I worked at TRW Automotive full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits. Non-management staff knowledgeable and great to work with.

    Cons

Director level micromanagement and lack of respect for the working salaried class. Our way or the highway attitude and does not want feedback on how to improve things. Complete lack of understanding of the amount of resources needed to complete the job properly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire staff to allow people to succeed not just get by. Quality of life for workers needs to be considered rather than just Shareholder and CEO returns.

Former Employee - Customer Quality Engineer in Marshall, IL

I worked at TRW Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Most people are friendly, when it's time to go home you go home, little to no travel required, low turnover rate of employees.

    Cons

Everyone plays the blame game and doesn't take responsibility for anything. No clear guidelines of who is responsible for which activities. Every-changing management at headquarters makes it difficult for manufacturing to respond accordingly. Minimal perks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to have a better work environment so that program managers have a lower turnover rate. Manufacturing gets frustrated with the non-communication. Also implementing tracking services require everyone's input- there was no stakeholder management and the RMA software they want to implement is not going to be used accurately for a long time.
