Great experience working with talented people.

    Intern (Former Employee)

ProsThe people at TSMC were very motivated and hardworking. The culture of the company is very united and everyone that works there is very passionate about what TSMC does. Facebook, gmail, and other "distracting" websites are blocked to promote efficiency.

ConsThere are very strict rules regarding usage of phones/computers etc. The work environment seems very stressful and the hours are very long.

An intern in process integration team

Product Investigator (Former Employee) Hsinchu (Taiwan)

ProsIf you have higher degree from US, you might get better chance for salary and promotion.

ConsIt's a military, so there is no much space for a research to explore.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey only have on job training. By their definition, you would be rotate to another team for three months or longer, and then came back to the original team. I don't see any benefit from this system because you still don't catch up the whole operation unless you stay longer than 1.5 years. Wok-life balance strongly depends on team. If you were in manufacturing team, then you'd better have passion to stay with it...

    Experience of summer intership

Process Integration Engineer (Former Employee) Hsinchu (Taiwan)

ProsGreat internship program and I can work closely with my body to know many things, which are pretty fresh to me. Managers care about interns so I have a pretty good impression on TSMC. The salary and welfare are good. What's more, summer internship program will keep in touch with me. It's great to receive their warm greetings again!

ConsThe working hours somehow are long. Engineers are under pressure. There are very strict rules regarding usage of phones/computers etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementI like the management during my internship. Reduce the paper work and meetings might be good.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
