You get to work for a company owned by Warren Buffet.
Salary was pretty decent starting off.
Training program is like a junior level college course.

    Pros

I have had the pleasure of working at TTI for the past two years in the eBusiness department. My experience has been very positive overall. Management and leadership are capable and supportive, coworkers are skilled and professional, and everyone seems to be relaxed, friendly, and ready to work.

    Cons

With any large, stable company, it can take time to change. While this is not necessarily a con, it is the nature of the size and age of the company - and it is getting noticeably better. In eBusiness, there is a growing ambition now to innovate, create change, and generally improve upon things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no qualms whatsoever with the way TTI is being run, much less any complaints about how the department I was a part of was run. From my perspective, TTI has found some great advocates and leaders for their departments and teams, and I hope they can keep that up.

    Pros

create great friendships with people, opportunity to advance to a limit. pay is reasonable, and offer discounts on ranger tickets, boots, various things as a perk.

    Cons

gossip within the workplace, not a lot of great "management". supervisors don't talk to you unless they are told to or chewed out. can be stressful at times, and shift times aren't that great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more involved with your employees, it will get you further in your career. also, maybe make a few more leadership positions for certain areas. consolidation, shipping, picking. (not just supervisors, but area "leaders".

I have been working at TTI Texas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are extremely friendly and tend to be very qualified for their positions.

    Cons

The only cons would be the slightly old-hat upper/mid management styles, as well as slightly below-average benefits. However, I must say that I am a big fan of our CEO/Founder, and a few others in upper management that really know what they are doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add rewards systems based on performance for folks in every department, even IT/IS. Raise benefits.

    I worked at TTI Texas

    Pros

TTI is the most stable of electronic component distributors. If you are looking for a good home, where you can have long term job security, this is a good place. And in today's climate, that's a big plus for most.

    Cons

Compensation plan for performers is lacking. Average performers paid the same as performers. I was able to almost double my salary in a career move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the people truly driving revenue, reward them.
