Run, far and fast unless you enjoy being treated like a disposable product

    Registered Nurse/Physician Substitute (Former Employee)
    Rockford, IL

ProsIt is an income, they will have hours available when tax season is over. And I have to make this 20 words and I can't. That's how awful this place is.

ConsWhen I say you're disposable, you are completely disposable. You get fired when a manager is in a bad mood, otherwise, they "let it slide" so you never know if you actually going to get in trouble. Grifols is the parent company, they have taken away all sense of morale by taking away an employee fund, and incentive to have perfect attendance and no errors. You are expected to work while being completely understaffed and the management does not back the employees. Grifols cut down the amount of vaca time you can earn per time period. This is a multi national company, every quarter they send out a magazine with high gloss cardboard paper nicely bound in both Spanish and English about higher up management that the center level never sees or really cares about. They are making multimillions, they actually SAVED money by acquiring Talecris by cutting out the middle man supplier. The savings ended up in cuts.

Advice to Senior ManagementBack your employees. If a donor talks or yells at an employee, how about defending your employee as opposed to making the donor complacent, just for another donation. We understand more donations, more money, but when physical threats get involved and nothing is done, that becomes a problem.

Good ole boy system so BEWARE!

    Donor Processor (Former Employee)
    Fayetteville, NC

ProsMost but not all donors are nice people.

ConsWorst management display ever! Prime example of what NOT to do in management!Good ole boy system and non-educated people in high paying positions. Flocking from one center to the next! Promoting ignorance and jealousy of you are seen as an educated threat to them. So sad these people are destroying the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementSome of you need to get an education on managerial skills and take the job seriously and not as a social setting!

People leave, get fired try to cover with less people and less hours

    Phys Sub Paramedic (Current Employee)
    Dallas, TX

Prosgood medical/dental/vision, 401k has immediately vested matching

Consthey work you to death, LVN phys. subs. make more than Paramedic phys. subs with no training in emergencies, most cannot start IV for emergencies, filing problems (alot of staff can't read/write that well)

Advice to Senior Managementpay parity between LVN and Paramedics, quit hiring marginally literate workers

ProsDid a lot of work in a very short period of time.

ConsCulture was to find blame, not resolve issues.

Felt like an outsider because everybody who worked there went to High School together.

    Production Supervisor (Current Employee)
    Clayton, NC

ProsIf you are in with the good ole boy network then you will have a wonderful experience. If not, your experience will be horrible. Not a good place for a Northerner or an outsider to work.

ConsIt is a managers place to work from a standpoint of HR. Company's HR policy is heavy favored for the manager and not the employee.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the good ole boy network and get some talent in there. Make clayton a melting pot. The un-welcoming of outsiders will catch up eventually.

Clinical R&D is run by incompetent, inefficient people that misrepresent themselves and lie without conscience.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Durham, NC

ProsGreat life saving products, advanced technology. Great people to work with. Salary and bonus at the time are great too.

ConsAbsolute lack of comfort level, always the need for looking over the shoulder and total lack of transparency.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to check why there is a mass exodus of reputable clinical staff and check the need for total overhaul of the clinical R&D.

    Terrible place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Research Triangle Park, NC

ProsSmall company so you have the opportunity to wear many hats and gain exposure to several operational functions

ConsPoor management (department and senior level)
    no company vision
many individuals in management positions have limited knowledge of industry standards
many department managers lack key management skils, such as people skills
    high turnover
many departments are poorly resourced (need to hire more people)
operational and financial processes are questionable, at best

Advice to Senior Managementto BOD: management at all levels needs to be closely examined

    HORRIBLE!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsGreat benefits
Satisfaction of knowing that you are providing people with life-saving medications that they would not receive if there were no donors

ConsToo much turmoil beginning with Senior Management
    Too much favortism
Not enough incentives for line staff
Management does not work as a team with line staff members
Wasting money on things that are not necessary instead of compensating employees
BIG bonuses for Senior mangement and not nearly enough for the employees who are out there in the field working their behinds off to make the company a success
Not dealing with issues concernin center management in a timely and fair manner.....TPR has a "wait and see if it goes away" attitude
Inappropriate behavior by Senior mangement, management, etc. at large company meetings

Advice to Senior ManagementLISTEN to your employees and their suggestions. Listen to ALL of them and not just the select few Management should set an example for employees and this begins with Senior management !! All the indescretions, partying and other negative things taking place ARE NOT examples that I would want my employees to follow. It is sad when your company is the laughing stock of the Plasma industry
