It is a very good place to work and I am satisfied with my career

Manufacturing Supervisor (Current Employee) Clayton, NC

ProsIt is very rewarding to work for a company that is involved in the community and provides a product to critically ill patients. Pay and benefits are above average.

ConsThe transition to new ownership makes it hard to maintain job focus. Sometimes it appears that different departments are not treated fairly in comparison to each other.

Advice to Senior ManagementWe need to work hard during the integration to be honest and open to the new opportunities presented while maintaining our committment to the patients.

Prosgood pay, good benefits, 401k with matching (immediate vesting), short and long tern disability, long term care insurance, life insurance, supplemental life/AD&D, spouse life and child life, 3 weeks vacation/year,

Consthe paperwork is a beat-down. it is a highly regulated industry.

Advice to Senior Managementtry to look at the FDA regulations from another angle or point of view. i think alot of of the standard operating procedures are too complex because of misinterpretation of the FDA rules.

    Pros-Flexible hours
    -No micro managing
    - Hands on opportunities
    - Good starting salary
    - Continuing education opportunities
    - Nice cash bonuses

ConsNot too many cons; Sometimes there is a long lull in work which can get very boring. Also, the "family feel" is not apparent; cliques are often seen.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake promotional opportunities much more obvious.

Shorter gaps betwen downtimes in work.

    Good coworkers, bad processes.

IS Analyst (Former Employee) Clayton, NC

ProsThe employees are very friendly, and the overall work environment is great. There are many opportunities to take on new projects, get training, and even change jobs. Communication is excellent at all levels.

ConsSmall tasks are over-managed. Validation is an absolute nightmare. Upper management is very quick to say no to any requests, so a lot of work either goes undone or gets done under the radar. IS management talks about leveraging synergy way too much.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage specialization. Don't expect everyone to be able to do everything for every project.

    Great place for learning

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsMany opportunities to learn and grow in the science field. Lots of opportunities to expand knowledge with classes such as auditing, computers, etc.

ConsThe company paid lower salaries than most of the competing companies. However, the company is stable providing most with good job security, so this may be looked over.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement was doing a pretty good job when I was employed at Talecris, however, they may need to listen to the needs of their employees as far as salaries to be more competitive.
