I have been working at Tata Consultancy Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good for work life balance,Job security,Wide range of technology and domain exposure and

Brand value are something that attracts to work here.

    Cons

Poor appraisal process(Salary gets deducted from the current salary on getting D Band). This

thing does not motivate any employee. If he/she has not done work up to the expectation of

appaiser but at the same time TCS got the complete billing on his/her name.So decreasing

salary from the current salary doesn't make sense? This really needs to ponder the higher

management. This is very demotivating factor for the employee. Many time, TCS loses some good

mind because of this appraisal process.Innovation has become unachievable dream in TCS as

good mind is leaving this company because of appraisal process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Here I have come just to convey my experienced opinion to the higher management because

Intermediate management does not convey the genuine opinion to higher management because

Intermediate management doesn't want to be bad in the eye of higher management.TCS will

also lead in product based sector if we change our appraisal process.good mind leaving this

company because he/she was rewarded with D Band due to TCS's mandatory rule that D band

should be given to anyone compulsary in the project in order to curve fitting.
Sir, this really demotivates employee suppose that if you got this D band, how will you

feel? your energy will lessen. Now I have opinion for this goal based appraisal that needs

more diversification. All goals should be divided further in tasks and all tasks should

have corresponding points. If any associate achieve all those tasks then he/she should be

given points accordingly and final rating should come accordingly. This will bring

transparency in the appraisal process and all associates wil be statisfied with the

    appraisal process.
