    Pros

The chefs made an effort everyday to make a nice staff meal. The Exec. Chef, CDC and Sous were very qualified and great to work with. The foh staff were also great and very polite, even when the restaurant was slammed.

    Cons

Low pay. The line cooks were mostly Mexican/Hispanic. Although we got along great because of my Spanish speaking ability, I don't enjoy working in such kitchens because of the "La Raza" effect. Almost all of them are hacks imo. Don't get me wrong, they are great short order cooks but not restaurant material. Why does Tavistock hire very qualified chefs but also hire hack cooks to execute the food?

    Advice to Management

Spend money on experienced cooks or culinary graduates.

    Pros

I've heard that over the past year, it was great to work here because things were happening and campaigns were running. However, that pretty much stopped when I arrived, and I had no idea.

    Cons

There isn't much passion in the employees nor innovation to do more with the brands.

Laid off due to office closure---thankfully.

    Pros

The wages were fine, though I worked there for three years & still left without making the median income of the city we were based in.

    Cons

Absolutely toxic environment with very few perks. Very low morale around corporate office. Instead of having working systems put in place, we were forced to cobble together broken systems and hope for the best.

    Advice to Management

Take value in your employees from the bottom to the top. They're the ones padding your pockets.

    Pros

People are nice and try to be helpful.

    Cons

Bad benefits, small salaries, old school mentality, no clear paths for promotion or advancement. They hold on to ineffective people due to loyalty. There is a do minimum possible mentality. Everyone is frustrated and upset all the time the environment is extremely negative.

    Advice to Management

Hire smarter and younger people to change the mentality and corporate environment. Until you can wear jeans on Fridays, have some fun and room for advancement you will never get A players. Smart people work with smart people ...
