    Pros

National IT is the best place I have worked in 25 years. The people care. Management listens actively. Tons of corporate culture with no negativity. Office golf, ping pong, game night, cartoon breakfasts with cereal, fresh fruit twice weekly, nap rooms, maternity room, showers, bike racks, free coffee, treadmill desks

    Cons

Caution: This work environment can be addictive.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

    Pros

The organization is passionate about making change in education, and flexibility within ones role is great.

    Cons

Salary can feel limiting at times, but it really is a wonderful place to work and there are non-tangible benefits.

    Pros

Teach For America provides the opportunity to join a larger movement--a diverse community of like-minded educators with the goal of eliminating educational inequity from the reality of America. Wonderful support and resources are available throughout and after your two service years.

    Cons

The initial training at summer institute feels inadequate to walk in and lead your own classroom on the first day of your first year. Fortunately, the training process is constantly changing (and hopefully improving). It now follows a different model than when I matriculated. Also, any initial deficiencies as an educator will be identified and addressed through frequent professional development opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve the training offered at summer institute. Summer placements and school placements are often very different.

    Pros

Very rewarding job with tremendous opportunities in and out of education after the two years in the classroom.
The opportunity to work around high-achieving individuals focused on making a difference

    Cons

You will be working a tremendous number of hours every work as a teacher and are also required to get certified (takes a lot of time in the evenings).

    Advice to Management

Continue what you are doing and recruit potential leaders who might not have become teachers had it not been for TFA. The experience as a teacher will stay with everyone that is selected.
