I have been working at Ted Baker London part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Pros were meeting very interesting people, corporate offices located upstairs, press events, top sales in the nation, high foot traffic, exclusive lines, beautiful store, top-performing team, sales incentives and bonuses. Bonuses were often hit because of the high foot traffic and location.

    Cons

Architecture separates team. Stressful work environment because of foot traffic, LP issues, etc. Store is opened longer than other locations in city. Incredibly difficult to get requested days off verified and accepted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LP problems should not be directly blamed on sales associates. Schedule more associates throughout the day. Respect employee's need for certain days off.

This is fun company that's great to work for. There's a lot of support and individual recognition. Wit and knowledge are at the core of the company. Product knowledge and seminars are often and thorough.

    Cons

The pay could be better. The location that I worked at needed a stronger leader.

    Pros

Ted does have a great company culture, although in the US it can be a bit overwhelming. Managers are always willing to help and they want to see you grow, but only within Ted Baker. If you do not have a great team around you, it can be difficult because Ted is all about the team.

    Cons

The team based learning can either work in your favor or make your experience miserable. It is hard to balance selling while completing the company workbooks that must be completed. The product can be difficult to sell in the U.S. market.

    Pros

The training is like nothing i have encountered before, very informal but taught me lots about my self and my approach to customers. i was constantly encouraged to learn different aspects of the business such as the admin systems, weekly reports and figures, not just sales. This certainly helped when i left to go on university placement, as the training and drive carried through.

    Cons

there can be a lot of pressure to hit targets, as is the case in many retail positions. being in part of a concession in HOF I often found my self being pestered by store managers to push master cards on customers, this can be very awkward and uncomfortable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take into consideration the amount of hard work your sales staff put in, and perhaps pay them a wage to match that responsibility.

I worked at Ted Baker London full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Ted Baker took the time to educate me in my role, and learnt me all you need to know to succeed in my role and beyond. Great uniform allowance and staff discount policy. Work as a team in all aspects.

    Cons

Ted baker were sometimes stuck in their ways with the management side of the business. I felt if the face fits you were given the opportunity regardless of experience i.e if you the perfect person for the job but your face didn't fit there was a problem. Being a homosexual and wanting to express my personality which Ted approved to an extent i was punished for this in several ways.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improved allowance.
