I have been working at Telefónica

    Pros

Big name in the CV working in big projects with the chance to meet big companies as customers

    Cons

    Really bad working environment
Every one needs to approve everything, so little space for improvisation even though they ask to "think out of the box"
HR treats you as you were a terrorist, always undervaluing your capacities

    Pros

Full time hours, get half an hour lunch break

    Cons

Unrealistic targets, no training given, unfairly treated, bad management, no commission

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think of ways you could improve, not be so negative, give staff propped training

I have been working at Telefónica full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very low expectations. Excellent health coverage in the U.S. Liberal work policies

    Cons

The leadership is incredibly incompetent. They are totally out of touch with the markets they are supposed to serve and as a result this company has spun out failure after failure and continues to do so. The idea was digital agility and scale of a global telco. The reality is, agility of a global telco without any real businesses to justify the massive overhead. CapEx reviews are on a monthly basis, making it impossible to build anything. Sales targets are wildly inflated and sales models built without any real due diligence into a sector. Management is trucked in to oversee businesses that it has never touched and then doesn't even bother to learn about it. Recruiting practices are downright dishonest - promises are made that are not fulfilled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shutter the place. Or clean house. It can't get any worse.

I have been working at Telefónica full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Won't be working for them after 1st July. Thought they were a great company to work for up until now. They offered flexible benefits and good work/life balance and I had defended them to all the customers throughout thick and thin

    Cons

They don't care about their staff or customers. Capita have taken ove all call centre operations and will start looking for any way to save money

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why ruin a good company because you are in debt by outsourcing most of the operations?

I have been working at Telefónica

    Pros

The company had great potential a few years ago,but now the only advantage is you get paid an average salary to do your job, and it looks good on a CV.

    Cons

As others have said here, bullying is something of a major problem for this company. I have seen way too many blatant examples of this kind of behaviour, and it generally goes unchecked. HR seem to support this approach under the auspices of "driving performance". It seems that recent hires into the company are more suited to a role in a Call Centre then a mature organisation, and tend to disguise their inadequacies with bluster and intimation.

Unfortunately, the bullying rarely gets addressed, and complaints against aggressive behaviour are not usually accepted as such, and results in an oppressive and unhealthy environment.

Company senior managers are very much unaware of what the lower managers are up to, and their behaviours go unchecked.

Not a place to make a career, but ideal to get quick experience and move on. Company seems to go into a state of panic and "blame-storming" as soon as revenue targets go astray,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire managers that use intimidation or aggression as a means of driving their own self worth. Focus more on your people and the people who truly display the core values.

I have been working at Telefónica

    Pros

The people the company does not realise the level of commitment form the staff

    Cons

The rat race culture and the blame culture too many managers are more interested in covering their own backs instead of resolving issues. Also senior management have in the past told bare face lies to staff in relation to orgainisational changes the justification they give is to maintain the business as usual status.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value staff more and treat them like adults

I have been working at Telefónica

    Pros

Really nice benefits, there are very flexible hours só the work-life balance is truly great, the deadline were always fare and rarely was to much pressure, it's fairly easy to shift team if you are unhappy with your current, this company is truly a great international experience.

    Cons

I will complete 3 years in Telefonica, in this time my bosses don't have a clue if I exceed myself (in fact I never had a feedback at all), I don't have KPI and my manager as a clear lack o leadership, three years in a roll he had one of the worst team evaluation and the director won't do nothing. If you are expecting to work hard and get compensated by that, forget it, it only matter politics and being aligned with the right person in the company is essential, there is a trade off here, they won't put you pressure but you won't grow fast on the company as well, so be advised. By the way, every six month the company change its management structure so expects some job friction and slowliness for 2/3 months a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, start doing your job! This lack of posture combined with poor performance is a motivation killer. Stop doing politics and pursue results for god sake, and evaluate your team by them, not only, by the project you like most. Start to be responsible with the career of others, and help them to achieve success one instead of looking only for your shoes.

I have been working at Telefónica full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Cutting edge of mobility changing the way people work which is making a positive impact on the economy especially in the public sector.
People at lower management and below are great.
    Work life balance

    Cons

Don t drink their own champagne so although customers are given access to great technology the employees don t always get the same.
Senior management and leadership team are out of touch with employees and the marketplace.
Lack of long term planning means that knee jerk tactical decisions are in play.

I have been working at Telefónica full-time

    Pros

    1) Flexible working
    2) Wider o2 consumer business has great brand
    3) Thing big initiative is a real contributor to the community

    Cons

    1) draconian senior leadership in business is not up to the job of changing business direction - vote of no confidence
    2) Restructure after restructure with bipolar strategy
    3) Cultural habit of blaming people rather than fixing more difficult wider issues of capability, expertise and internal process
    4) Do not pay sales people fairly for business won
    5) unrealistic expectations of sales, specialists and technical teams with no acknowledgement of challenges or commitment to fix.
    6) excessive workloads and hours due to lack of investment in expertise, resource, process and systems.
    7) no talent development program for people in business division

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managing upwards will not drive a successful business or high performance team. Senior leadership targets different to staff lower down the tree. Fear culture drives good people to leave hence the large loss of talent.
