Most Developers here are nice , easy to get along with. Developers has high discipline , and know what they are doing.

    Cons

Poor Management , ESPECIALLY for Project Management. Don't know why the Upper management team transfer some English Major ladies to manage the project. Is this because they can speak English ? ? They don't even know what is the software development process , Com'on , be professional !

    Pros

I found the benefits and compensation to be ok. Work environment is consistent, so you're not in a 60 hour rat race like in some companies. A few of the teams are smart and well run and many of the newer hires know what they're doing.

    Cons

The CEO doesn't provide a clear direction for the company which filters down to everyone else. Project priorities are often changing. Communication between teams is lacking. You'll think you've come to an agreement on a solution to a problem, only to find out a month later that not everyone was on the same page. Lots of infighting and politicking. The best managers and best engineers leave for other companies. Many of the people who stay and get promoted are good at talking (or shouting), not doing.

Friendly co-workers, lot of potential to grow. The management had this program where if you are interested in a different career path, they let you move after few months.

    Cons

Not easy communication with the top management,

    Pros

Business can in theory be turned around according to plan and some strategic growth areas are growing Flexible environment Engineer-centric Good compensation

    Cons

Upper management is defocused, impractical and out of touch. Founder's syndrome. Management is mostly reactive rather than proactive when it comes to keeping employees happy Employees are distant second class citizens to management (although it's like this most places) Will the company actually execute the turn around plan? It's already missed targets and pushed goals into the future, so I'm unsure if it has the focus and strength of will to do it.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to retain good employees and focus harder on the hard decisions and boring work of turning the company around.

    Pros

Interaction with co-workers was very positive and collegial. Working environment is friendly and doesn't feel oppressive.

    Cons

Many employees don't receive competitive wages. Some business decisions seem rushed or confused. Too many projects, not enough resources. Some departments have too many managers while others don't have enough.

    Cons

Management will make stuff up, they are lazy with their yearly reviews, no loyalty towards its hard workers, high turnover rate due to all this and causing people to look elsewhere for work.

    Advice to Management

Reward people for their hard work

    Pros

Clean work environment. Friendly staff. Free lunch on Thursdays. Benefits package is good. Happy Hour every Friday! Company Cell Phone.

    Cons

Lots of Company gossip from management Butt kissers get promoted to management positions, not the people with skills or knowledge to manage teams for department growth. Company culture of passing the buck, as well as the Blame. Managers quick to take credit for work/solutions they had nothing to do with, & could not explain how solution was created or how it would work. Very rare for you to move within the company, they seem to hire from outside than promote someone within the company. As I know that I have turned in my resume for other positions I have been qualified for, only to hear the dept. manager say they never received it. High turnover rate, as lots of coworkers have left for better opportunities. Company does not show loyalty to employees that have sacrificed to help the success of Telenav.

    Advice to Management

WAKE UP!!! You have lost a lot of great people. Its sad that a company with so much hope, has failed its employees

    Pros

The employees at TeleNav are generally a good group of bright hard working people. Generally collaborative and open to new ideas and ways of doing things.

    Cons

TeleNav needs a clearer, more sensible long-term business plan. The marketplace for LBS apps and services is constantly changing and highly competitive, however I did not see a viable long term business plan or strategy to address these threats. While the aspriation of what TeleNav wants to do and where they want to be may make sense, the path of how to get there was not particularly sensible. Additionally, competing internal projects contributed to already strained human resources, leading to constant product delays and missed expectations.
