    Pros

Pays well and that's about it.

    Cons

Highly negative atmosphere, biased and lord knows don't get hurt or they'll turn on you like a pack of hungry wolves. encourages employees to not seek medical care if hurt at work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn the difference between hard work with a desire to achieve and self selling narcissism. Value your employees and stop going around safety.

Former Employee - Temporary in Fenton, MO

    Pros

The compensation was competitive. The company was closed on most holidays, and offered holiday pay if not.

    Cons

The plant was poorly operated and the employees needs, and/or issues were never dealt with by management. Issues were never solved at the root of the problem, rather at the end of the process. Weekends were often required. The incorrect employees were blamed for problems/issues.

    Pros

Interesting work and you can learn alot working in the corrugate industry. Many different aspects of maintenance in a box plant.

    Cons

This plant is very poorly managed. The management doesn't believe in continuous training in maintenance because if they train you, you will leave to go somewhere else. Also this has got to be the most negative and depressing places ever as far as employees absolutely hate working there but can't go anywhere else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be better listeners of your employees and treat them with respect and praise them when they do a good job. Also don't talk down to your supervisors in front of the workers like your the greatest thing since sliced bread and never make a mistake.

This place has nothing to do with normal work procedures. They are constantly hiring and quickly dismissed employees.

    Pros

The pay and benefits were decent.

    Cons

Management really does not care to give their emloyees a break " Just work " but don't pass out ! Some of the Supervisiors know absolutly nothing how to talk or even how to treat employees just yelling and screaming if they don't work faster or create the work because they are overloadet with work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate more with new hiring employees to give the employee a real opporturnity for learning something for one position not just like the main thing the emloyee does something. Some of the processing areas does need more employees to help each other not just for a while but constantly that you really can have a break, that you really know what you are doing without running and jumping just to get my work done and then you have hurt yourself. Another point is, it makes no sense to go everything must quickly just things to avoid such errors from being made there again but never improves, to much waste of material and reworking but no one wants to improve something that is a shame for the time in which we live now.

    Pros

The pay was fairly competitive and it was like working for an extended family. Most folks were nice and wanted to do the right thing.

    Cons

As the economy became worse in early 2008, job insecurity became a very real issue. There was a real lack of home-work balance, with the expectation that one was supposed to arrive prior to the boss's arrival, and not leave until after the boss had left the property. Senior Management at Temple-Inland proved that they only cared about their own "golden parachutes". They were a ruthless bunch of folks who were stuck in a 1970's era management model.

    Current Employee - Corragator Operator

    Pros

I am payed extremely well for what I do. I work extremely hard and I am compensated well for it.

    Cons

I work a ton of hours, of which are manual labor. The company makes millions of dollars, and every three years our union kicks and screams for a 2.5% raise. Health insurance has become a major issue. Temple is tightening its belt to improve company performance and value, but it is often squeezing in the wrong places!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Temple Inland is a great place to work if you want to become a yes sir or a yes mam. If you have any intelligence you will run!
