I worked at Tempur Sealy International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great working environment. The building is state of the art, with a Starbucks and cafe onsite. The workout facility and common areas are nice, open, and well maintained. Beautiful building, and very nice people to work with.

    Cons

Senior executives have a tendency to rule by fear. Intimidation, and some ruthless politics are employed to grab power and position in the newly merged company. If you are working at the executive level, wear Kevlar. Very unfortunate sub-culture in an otherwise great organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The top HR officer should do exit interviews with employees who are released under bizarre circumstances and who have otherwise been stellar employees.

I have been working at Tempur Sealy International full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

No real supervisory leadership to speak of in certain departments. Ability to work on your own pace and skill level

    Cons

No real supervisory leadership to speak of in certain departments. The training program is non existent, safety is like a watchdog with no teeth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give everyone from management on down a drug test. You will never change what you tolerate. If you say you are going to do something - do it!

I have been working at Tempur Sealy International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A company on the verge of major growth and expansion.

    Cons

Improvements needed in every department- mostly due to the fact that company is growing so rapidly.

I worked at Tempur Sealy International full-time

    Pros

"Good" people on the team, laid back atmosphere, family oriented company. Teams work well together in terms of day-to-day interaction.

    Cons

Employees are not well supported with resources, disorganized processes, leadership is lacking on all levels of management. Communication is an issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For a company who prides themselves in innovation, resources are not allocated properly and management is disorganized. The product process needs an overhaul.

I worked at Tempur Sealy International

    Pros

Tempur-Pedic is a leading manufacturing company who understands and utilizes strong financial and business practices to provide the most value to the shareholder. Many companies especially within this industry strive to be like Tempur. Tempur is a fairly new company that is still small but has deep pockets.

    Cons

Tempur is frugal about their spending and this includes salaries. Tempur needs to develop new products and I'm not sure that their R&D understands how to do this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Purge out the non-needed managers that are not providing value to your company. Recognize the difference makers and strive to keep them in your company.
