I have been working at Terex full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Employment is reasonably stable, for permanent employees. They provide competitive health insurance benefits. Education benefits may be provided, but availability depends heavily on the personality of your manager.

    Cons

Low pay for given job functions. Poor prospects for advancement. The company culture is promoted as outwardly positive, but is backwards and oppressive in practice. Although there is a performance bonus, it is so tiny as to be nearly pointless for non-managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management prides itself on their corporate culture, but at the ground level ambition and innovation are consistently stamped out, and business decisions are made based on uninformed intuition and personality.

    Pros

The people at Terex are great, made a lot of friends and build strong networking relationships. Lots of smart people. Summer hours and casual Fridays were a plus!

    Cons

Pay is not competitive with the market, lots of politics, and no space for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Believe in your people and treat them right or they will leave. Allow for more growth and development and less politics.

    Pros

Great Executive Leadership that sees the future of the industry.

    Cons

Got laid off in 2011 by Terex. Yes, they took care of me; however, I have found that I had to take over two steps back and take a HUGE pay cut. I had to move to another state.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the employees that actually saved you millions while they were there instead of laying the off.

I worked at Terex full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Large corporation with strong processes in place. Recognized as best equipment in the industry. Nice to work from a position of buying in large quantity. Allows for expanded design opportunities

    Cons

Fast paced, sometimes hard to keep up. Keeping up with the needs of Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer support can be challenging if understaffed. Facility fluctuated often between under staffed, and over staffed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management stream too long. Local managements input should receive more weight. Trying to manage a facility on the East coast, from a facility on the West coast is a challenge. Completely different work force and mindset. Completely different set of tools available to work with from one facility to the next.
