I have been working at Teva Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

Solid culture, very true to its roots, tries to expand the boundaries of generics, good benefits, strongly global collaboration between groups, very good with work-life balance

    Cons

Too many changes, but it is on a better road with new CEO. Raises and promotions are based on time in company and not performance, unfair and not logical, inconsistent behavior across departments, many pet projects and highly political, plus very conservative, sometime in excess which has lead to mistakes, little to no promotion/training from within, almost no reason to host an internal referral process. Very few family events

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to focus on a regional or global appraisal process that is consistent across departments, need to limit the influence of politics and pet projects which leads to wasted time and money, need to also promote/train within more, so many people have skills that can be used elsewhere or should be trained to fill needed jobs, it is cheaper and looks better for internal opportunities

Decent company to work for, but faces profitability and competition challenges like most pharmaceuticals.

I worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits: tuition reimbursement 100% up to $6K and 50% up to $10K decent bonuses, good health coverage, 6% 401K match with extra discretionary 2% contribution,

    Cons

Very competitive and volatile work environment with high workloads. Frequent restructuring and layoffs. Centralized management creates inefficiency at the business unit level. Global decisions are made primarily to increase shareholder value. Limited opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Receive more feedback from middle managers, involve them in the planning process. Concentrate on implementing value-added tasks that reduce costs and improve efficiency. Revise Teva LMS so that employees are only trained on tasks that are related to their job responsibilities.

I worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Friendly people who generally are eager to help others. Not real formal so it is somewhat relaxed. Was able to learn from others. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Could be a little more formalized and structured in some areas. For a rather large company they lack certain programs. Still lots to do integrating the various companies that have been merged into Teva.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to work on harmonization of the varous companies that have become part of Teva.

A good company with poor department managment at the local, site, level

I have been working at Teva Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

Teva is a great company in the Pharmaceutical industry. As a global leader in the generic market Teva is a front runner in the drive to make medicines, some of which are life saving, more affordable. Knowing that your job is helping to save lives and help people get access to the medications they need is very rewarding. Teva also has an excellent benefits package.

    Cons

Teva, Irvine has been mismanaged. The research and development department specifically suffors from poor overbullying underappreciating negative-feedback type managment at the upper levels. Some supervisors are excellent but are hindered by the inept leadership in upper managment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Global managment and decision making is above my level so I am not qualified to applaud or critique it. I feel that the upper level managment of the Irvine site has been very poor over the past few years, especially within the research and development department.

I have been working at Teva Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

Teva has a great benefits plan and is people oriented. There is a good life/work balance that allows the employee to prosper both personally and professionally.

    Cons

The organization is dysfuntionally structured with major departmental silos that make it difficult to work or improve cross-funtionally. The growth of the company has outpaced the growth of many of the managers abilities to support the company but there is no program in place to address this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take accountability for the people and processes and actively manage and support your areas. Stop relying on the methods that used to work when Teva was significantly smaller, and start managing and supporting change that helps the company be successful now.

    I worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

Your manager will make or break your experience with Teva. There are some good ones and some nut jobs. It is not huge mega pharma.

    Cons

There have been times that sales support has been lacking. A few of the managers are nut jobs. The products are not exactly exciting blockbusters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the managers should have been screened a little better for personality defects. There should be more management training for lower level and new managers.

I worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

the site facilities are more then what one should look for.
coffee rooms, dining hall, parking spaces, other transport options.

    Cons

a lot of the company employees are contracted from other companies that treat them in a lesser way and Teva isn't acting to change it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to make sure that employees of contracted companies aren't getting less compensation then the employees hired by main company(Teva)

I have been working at Teva Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Fixed working hours schedule for the first 3 contract period.

    Cons

The old time people are very hard to work with, they treat newly hired people like stupid! The worst is if new operator see something wrong and he or she voice it out, they will take it against the person, Its like if your new you don't have the right to see or speak about any wrong doing, Even deviation of SOP.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many SOP's yet the very author is violating her own policy
