Good for money, not so good for technical challenge

IC Design Engineer (Former Employee) Dallas, TX

    ProsGood compensation and good benefits.

ConsYou need to work on solving politics before solving technical issues.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a responsibility for the decision you made. Don't turn a engineer into a scapegoat.

I enjoyed working at TI. The people were very smart, friendly, and competent.

DLP Software Test and Validation Engineer (Former Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsI learned a lot about Digital Light Processing and Video Projection. The people were great to work with. Realistic expectations and goals for the most part.

ConsMy contract and my peer's contract were terminated early and unexpectedly. I got 6 months out of a year contract. I only had a couple of days notice. They expected a year commitment, but didn't provide the same in kind. Tended to want contractors to take unpaid vacations during Thanksgiving. and during Bad Weather days. These weren't allowed to be made up.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat contractors more fairly with regard expected length of contract.

    Program Management

Mid Level Management (Current Employee) Stafford, TX

ProsWork-Life Balance, leading technology company, very knowledgable people, competitive compensation.

ConsLimited growth opportunities but that's location dependent. To grow and be at senior management level it's almost a requirement to move to Dallas eventually - the head office.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe open with employees. Don't create positions just to save someone's job and impact someone's growth trajectory.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
