    Excellent Company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat Benefits - Health, Life 401k, Retirement
great hours, great location, wonderful people

ConsThere are some lack of communication between the business units/companies. Management has changed and it seems for the better!

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to listen to the employees and consider their ideas. Compare current salaries with others in the industry and update Thales. Focus on retaining current employees.

    Great Benefits, Very Challenging Place

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsThe company allowed me to achieve growth and a better willingness to learn! I was able to advance from working within groups.

ConsIt was under a 2 year (only) temporary contract. It gave little growth for promotion within the company. I would have loved to get hired in.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep giving young adults the opportunity to work for a great company. Maybe more promotional moves will be highly appreciated!

Your Mileage May Vary (Mine Was Excellent)

Legal Department (Former Employee) Arlington, VA

ProsInteresting/sophisticated work; empowered to make important decisions; international travel (Paris); good work/life balance; market compensation; pleasant colleagues (some awesome, none awful); good immediate boss.

ConsCurrently a transitional environment because of organizational changes at Group and US HQs (impacts morale and job security); ocasional cultural gaps between French and US management (never a problem for me).

Advice to Senior ManagementWeather the economic storm and increase focus on morale; improve internal communication.

Always challenging, sometimes frustrating, always interesting

Business Analyst (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsGreat benefits, never boring, bosses let you do your job with a large degree of independence.

ConsUpper management sometimes out of touch, reluctant to settle conflicts, conflicts created by conflicting goals. Examples, build something quickly, but spend no time or money on it, but get it delivered. Satisfy customers, but cut costs from current level by spending less time on customer satisfaction. Handle more business, but with fewer people.

Advice to Senior ManagementTell everyone what the priority is, instead of making people wrong no matter what the result

    Great place to work

Systems Engineer (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsInnovative group of people that strive to provide the best product to customers, with a reliable system and the best support on the field.

ConsSchedules are not well thought out from the inception of the program were sales people not necessarily know what the system is capable of doing and if the technology is ready to support such requirement.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake advantage of the resources available through out the corporation to develop a more solid system with fewer hiccups and delays

Overall a good experience for a new graduate.

Research Engineer (Former Employee) Rome (Italy)

ProsWorking for a very big company like this can provide you a good insight of what it means life outside university.

ConsOther departments should work for the good of the company not for themselfs. Also they need to improve their R&D department

    Great benefits

    Intern (Former Employee) Paris (France)

ProsAlthough is a huge company, it still makes you feel like a human being. They give lots of benefits for the employees, and you also get to work with state of the art technology

ConsIt's so massive, that the bureaucracy is huge. As an example, it takes ages before you can install some software in your computer because lots of people have to approve it

Wish the Leicester site hadn't closed down

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Leicester, England (UK)

ProsI worked for Thales at their site in Leicester, I was gutted when they relocated all of their operations to Crawley and closed the Leicester site, in the year since leaving I am yet to find a company with such a great atmosphere, great staff, family feel etc, I miss the xmas raffle, parties, Diwali celebrations. I wonder if Leicester was unique in this way ?
Thales as a company offer good routes for progression, pay rises, appraisals and courses, 27 days holiday plus options to purchase more holiday, discounts with petrol companies and retailers, good pension etc.
    Great company to work for

ConsChallenges of my position were with dealing with customers who's work had not been completed on time.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
