Consso little time to complete all tasks needed

Advice to Senior Managementmore hours needed to train the right people for their jobs, we stress the right person for the right place at the right time but if they don't walk into the store as that person....we can't invest in them right away without sacrificing time away from our customers

Growing company with great benefits and growth opportunities to get promoted!

    Assistant Store Manager (Current Employee)

ProsDecent employee discount. Great benefits. Great amount of PTO/Sick days plus Comp days. Lots of growth and opportunities at this company. Very flexible with scheduling as well as great management. A fast-paced working environment...we do it all: floorsets, selling, shipment, cleaning, windows etc. Smaller team of associates which helps with open communication. Lots of company incentive programs to win money for your store.

ConsPAYROLL: Yes, everyone gripes about it because there just isn't ever enough given. To those of you who are retail associates, you will get maybe 15 hours a week MAX (If you are lucky). Management normally gets most the hours because they are required to have a minimum set hours weekly. There is not much training for the new recruits only because again payroll doesn't permit. With upper management changing, contradicting views set in and make it difficult to make heads or tails of things. Patience is definitely needed during the heavy times with no payroll as well as with the extreme demands for tasks to be completed ASAP.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo the upper management (DM's and RD's): pay attention to the needs of your higher volume stores that reach out for your help. To whoever distributes payroll: rethink the scale. If payroll was based off of sales plan, then make sure you compensate those who are getting ripped off. For instance: there were two store's who's sales plan was $45,000: one store was given 178 (Base) hours to run the store with and the other was given 370 hours. If hours are distributed unevenly, reach out to your DM's/RD's and have them shift hours from store to store.

ConsCall in shifts. If your on the schudule as a call in and you plan your day around it. You call 2 hours before the shift woyld begin. I have been told they didnt need me everytime i had a call in shift and missed out on a lot of family events because if it.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave less employess so we can get more that 5-10 hours mazimum weekly.

    Love it!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsYou learn a lot on the job, get a great discount. I love my job!

ConsI have none. I would just like to say that, I guess it all depends on the store you work for, because it seems a lot of people had different experiences. It could be because of their work ethic, or they were bad employees, or maybe you did have a bad management team. I love mine, we are like a little family. We all work well together, and to the person that said "i only say my store manager 3 times in 3 months"... Maybe you are in a bigger store than me, but my store manager is there 6 days a week. I work with her almost all the time.

Sure you can work as little as 3 hours a week (and if you are looking for a full time job, retail is not for you). Some weeks you can work as many as 25 hours and some as little as 3, that's retail. Not just The Children's Place. My store manager made it clear in our group interview that it would be like that.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone, I love them!

    Absolutely wonderful to work for.

Sales Associate (Current Employee) Columbus, GA

ProsThere are many great benefits, as well as a pleasant group of co-workers and management. Modest store size makes for a cozy work environment.

ConsCorporate doesn't pay close enough attention to the conditions of the store. Safety does not seem to be a major concern.

Advice to Senior ManagementAbsolutely none. My management staff is amazing! They should be rewarded for their hard work and dedication to this company.
