I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesoem benefits Awesome discount, differs from most retail discounts

    Cons

No time to take PTO No flexibility So many price changes and updates you can't keep up. Company pushes and pushes you to so many limits that you can't even service customers. Inconsistency from DMs. Very little response back from DMs. Harassment from upper management. HR nightmare. Your average day at TCP will consist of ringing customers, processing shipment, price changes, visual updates, 50+ boxes of freight arrives. All of this on top of 2 person coverage. Sales and coupons every day which brings constant traffic flow, which is great! But not if you get no help payroll wise go even service. DMs barely understand the challenges and constantly remind you that YOU ARE the problem and do not congratulate success, instead use shame Tactics to embarrass you.

    Advice to Management

Get with it. We are all human! 2 person coverage is not enough to produce results, whether it's sales or tasks, plus maintain standards and be LP aware. 3 people coverage at all times should be the expectation! Also, allow overtime for the associates who bust it and clock out to avoid OT!!! Also..... Allow more than minimum wage so you can hire associates worth a crap!!!

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunities for advancement as they promote from within a lot. Flexible scheduling for associates. If you like loud music and kids this is your place other than that it sucks.

    Cons

No payroll hours. Ever. Don't miss your comp. unless you like to be yelled at. Be prepared to go above and beyond for the company with no thanks from upper management. No appreciation for employees.

    Advice to Management

More payroll. Give recognition for a job well done. Pay more so you can hire decent people. Hold people accountable instead of not wanting to fire people bc you are on the worst employers list.

    Pros

    Good employee discount, fun environment

    Cons

Floorset change too many times, price updates everyday create chaos, often times resulting in moving product to accommodate sales. Not enough hours to finish projects (usually 2 people at all times).

    Advice to Management

Give more hours for more coverage. Quit doing price updates so often and moves.

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time

    Pros

The store that I work in has amazing, dedicated, hard-working people. We call ourselves a family and do anything to protect our own.

    Cons

The company is very stingy on hours. We often have very complicated and time consuming floorsets, POS events, markdowns, etc. and are rarely allotted extra hours to accommodate for all that we are required to do. My store manager often works over 70-80 per week (while only getting paid for 40) in order to get everything done. We are always on two-two coverage and rarely have a third person per shift no matter what time of the year it is due to restricted hours. Every associate starts off at minimum wage, regardless of prior experience. I am a manager working 25-30 hours a week and am only paid $9.75 which is not worth the amount of physical labor the job requires. This company prides themselves on being debt free and it is because they do not appreciate the people who run their business. We receive yearly performance reviews based on numbers that are out of our control and that decides our pay raise. If this company paid better, we would have better people. The turnover rate in my district is becoming insufferable.

    Advice to Management

    Better wages attract better associates.
