I have been working at The Children's Place part-time

    Pros

If you're looking for a place to feel comfortable this is good place. The atmosphere is nice if you get along with your co-workers.

    Cons

There isn't a lot of opportunity for growth. This company likes to hire "outside" of the company rather than promote from within. In addition to this, the work load for a sales lead is identical to that of an assistant manager, the only difference is you're over worked with no increase in pay and no benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Identify that there is opportunity to promote from within. Get to know more of the people in lower level management positions, they might impress you. You would be amazed how much knowledge someone possesses even after a short amount of time within a stagnant position.

I worked at The Children's Place

    Pros

Good money, good quality clothing, great discount on the clothes! If you are a member of the part time staff, this is a great job. If you have kids, they will be dressed well for a great price!

    Cons

No payroll given to accomplish all you have to do in a day. Managers are salaried, so they are free labor. I love the product, customers but missed my family!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are a member of management, make sure you have a strong core staff that is not afraid to work hard. There is a lot to do and no hours to do it on, so your staff needs to be quick, efficient and be able to multitask!

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The employee discount is good. There are some decent co workers. Most of the customers are decent. Floorsets are fairly easy to complete.

    Cons

Associates are NEVER allowed to take breaks whether it be 15 minutes or 30 minutes. Associates are expected to train upper management when unqualified management is hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Associates are entitled to a 15 minute break. PLEASE hire qualified management.

I have been working at The Children's Place full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing benefits such as pay, reimbursements, vacation days etc.

    Cons

The location is inconvenient for a lot of people, especially for commuters using mass transit. You'll be tired of the commute very quickly. As for the work, you need to go through multiple channels to get anything approved and systems are outdated as well. Structure is constantly changing and organization/motivation often takes a back seat to the amount of work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to your employees. They put in a lot of hard work and long hours but when they're getting no recognition it's hard to care about the work
