Amarillo District is horrible

Merchandiser (Former Employee)
Amarillo, TX

I worked at The Coca-Cola Company part-time for more than a year

ProsWorking alone.
A little hard work makes you look better than a lot of other employees
Money and pay raises are some of the best but not worth it for the amount of work

ConsOver work you
They make a 2 man job a 1 man job
Way to much product for one person
Store managers take their anger out on the Coke employee ALWAYS

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't over work your best employees even if short handed. Get better communication skills with your merchandisers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Should I stay or should I go?

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGreat people to work with. Good benefits and pay.

ConsLong time employee "absorbed" by the constant churn of re-organization. Re-assigned to jobs with no thought to my actual talent or skills.

Very political; if you aren't protected, you won't stay long.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThey pay well, and could change to be what they used to be if the politics shift that way.

ConsLOTS of office politics -- if you aren't on a good list you'll be isolated and pushed out. The few actual employees (they use LOTS of contractors) have to hope they have some impact over the people that actually do the work, and are measured by others efforts that they can't control.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet control of the workforce, stop using 'cheap' solutions that cost more in effort and loyalty, and return to the focus on brand strength instead of commodity management.

Alot of corporate BS

Marketing (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 5 years

ProsCompetitive compensation and retirement plans. Health care insurance should be better.

ConsIf you are a white male, you are going nowhere. Focused on promoting minorities and females even if they aren't qualified for promotions. Makes the company look good because they are promoting minorities.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your sh*t together....

You can do better

Warehouse Worker (Former Employee)

I worked at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 3 years

ProsVery efficient, the productivity (i.e the amount of finished product produced) is unmatched

ConsOften ignore the requests of the lower level employees (the ones doing the physical work) they push their employees to the limit of labor laws and sometimes they push the envelope

Advice to Senior ManagementYour people make the company, misuse of the employee is self suicide.

Negatively Interesting can plant

Production Supervisor (Current Employee)
Baltimore, MD

I have been working at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 3 years

ProsIts an interesting place to work, with lots of self learning opportunities! Quite an exhaustive workload that will help u learn if you are new to the beverage industry as the management will hold you responsible for anything and everything.

ConsPlant management impedes growth, so if its your plan to grow within the company the right way, this is not a good plant for you to start as the plant mgr would not let you go outside the plant to another plant for a new position or transfer because he does not want any outside knowledge of how the plant is ran. He does not like to be challenged, and if you do that personally even if he concedes that you are right you would be discouraged with your end of year review as it permits subjective conclusion promoted by coca-cola as opposed to subjective values based on your work output. In general the slogan is if you disagree with anything even at the best interest of consumer or product quality, you are definitely going on a unsubstantiated PIP and HR will not do anything about it. This in-turn increase a high turnover costing the company a fortune on retraining and retaining skills to improve output. But not sure if this is Coca-cola's priority as the consumers already helped made the brand well known. if Pepsi was really helping their situation with avoiding promotion errors Coca-cola would have been super threatened!

Advice to Senior ManagementA 4 years rotation of plant management would help sustain top management plan to improve manufacturing culture. This will also help retain good hands as the metrics put in place to ensure hiring the right skill-set should be based on experience and education, not either or.

Good place on paper but not a marketing CPG place I thought going in

Senior Research Manager (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than a year

Prosgreat for resume builder (if you don't already have a big CPG in your work exp)
great long-term incenties at lower levels (for now as i have a feeling this will be changing soon)
decent base pay, especially if you are in Atlanta
work-life balance is outstanding (very much 9-5)

Consextremely low budgets that get sliced every year
very sales driven organization - keep spinning the data vs. focusing on big picture
inflated titles with no real responsibility
no thought process on how to measure ROI
extremely behind the curve on new thinking
limited career advancement (hire from outside for director + positions)

Advice to Senior Managementneed to start investing in people - #5 priority for the organization. really?
great salaries are great for short term but mean nothing from personal development

Sadly, it isn't the wonderful company it used to be!!!

Legal (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at The Coca-Cola Company full-time for more than 10 years

ProsWas incredible for 12 years--last five years the company changed and wasn't a great place to work anymore. Formerly excellent benefits including pay and employees treated well--that has slowly been changing in the past five years.

ConsToo many restructures and people left were forced to do more work to make up the difference.

They also outsourced IT Department that was on-site to a Help Desk in India. I'm sure employees in India tried, but the majority of the time they were not only slow but didn't have a clue how to fix nor did most of them understand many of our systems that were designed for The Coca-Cola Company.

The joke in legal was that they are the "Helpless Desk" and not the "Help Desk".

Advice to Senior ManagementI understand after the largest class action suit in history that you had to put more women in management as well as blacks. Some were qualified and some weren't which created stress for everyone who had to work with people who weren't truly qualified. I heard complaints for years about this issue.
