I worked at The Gap part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great clothing discounts, generally reasonable managers, and a lot of ability to work extra shifts. Decent high school job.

    Cons

I had no control of my hours. I was also paid virtually minimum wage to do the same job people were getting paid well more than me to do. I recommended a friend who had less experience, and his starting salary was less than mine at the time I recommended him.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with a little more love, especially if you don't care about our benefits from the job.

I have been working at The Gap part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Discount, the events, some people are nice, hours are pretty good when the workload in the store is heavy

    Cons

Management is a little disrespectful at times, they belittle you and it's so much favoritism omg. It's sad. Treat everyone equal. Just don't work here unless you're ready to kiss a ton of butt and be put on the back burner. I'm resigning soon and I won't be back, to any gap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Because of the management at the Michigan Ave store my dream is crushed. Be respectful to your employees. Yea your butt is on the line but don't snap at us we didn't do it. We're the ones doing a all the effing work. You're not better than the next person so stop acting like you are.

I have been working at The Gap full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Discount, good benefits, busy work.

    Cons

Long hours, close then open (ex. 11pm then come in at 6am) just isn't right. Customers are very needy, unappreciative, hard to handle. Also, lack of training.
