I have been working at The Goddard School part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They asked reasonable questions at the interview and were very honest and upfront about their needs and wants for open positions.

    Cons

After being hired they have cut my hours and I originally was interviewed for full time but now I am part time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to honest and direct with potential employees and current employees

I worked at The Goddard School

    Pros

Working with amazing staff and being included in some management decisions. There were very dedicated families which kept the team motivated and willing to strive farther. Set working hours and aside from floaters/breakers a set classroom. The classrooms are kept with new and up to date play things that are age appropriate. The management makes a huge effort to have very fun activities set. Very bright and lively atmosphere. The food being served was health conscious and very delicious. Management does its best to make sure classrooms and teachers are well taken care of.

    Cons

You are told you would receive benefits and paid leave, but that is only for salaried employees. This would not be a problem but since they don't really make any one salary its a little difficult. Pay is very low which is surprising because it is extremely expensive to send a child there. The staff is not subject to any raises and if they do acquire a raise, it is small, and usually the last they get. The management has very poor communicational skills between themselves and the staff creating confusion.

I have been working at The Goddard School

    Pros

The particular location that I work for has a great staff, and management team. We work well together and support each other. I am impressed with the clean environment, and standards kept. The supplies, and activities for the children are endless!! Great group of children. A rewarding investment into the next generation!! Competitive pay.

    Cons

Minimal benefits. Sometimes ratio standards seem difficult with certain children.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget what it's like when you are actually in the classroom at times. Sometimes due to circumstances things don't always go as planned.

Working at The Goddard School of Pasadena has been nothing but a great learning experience for me as a young teacher!

I have been working at The Goddard School full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best things about working at the Goddard School of Pasadena are:
    1. The staff is very close knit and always helping each other out, I love the girls I work with!
    2. The new director is AWESOME! She has helped the school grow in so many ways by just being here less then a year. She is very understanding and does her best to work with your personal and school schedule.
    3. The school is always trying to move forward and do something above and beyond. Right now the whole school and staff is going through the accreditation process to ensure quality curriculum as well as staff.

    Cons

There has been some ups and downs from my year and a half from working at the Goddard School of Pasadena. Some of the cons of working here is all of the expectations out of every teacher in the school. We are expected to go above and beyond our job description and a lot of it has to be done in our own time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some advice to management would to be to appreciate the great teachers you have on board and make it as easy as possible to juggle all the different responsibilities we have as being teachers at the Goddard School. I think support from the management team makes a world of difference to every teacher who works here.

    3. Lisa who is the director and Amanda the assistant director are both amazing people to work for
    4. Flexibility on schedules
    5. Teacher friendships you build

    Cons

    Well to begin:

    1. The owner Cindy is an absolute two faced woman.
    2. Parking sucks
    3. Really nowhere around that area to get food
    4. They are strict with teacher student or teacher parent. ...they don't like you babysitting for the kids
    5. More stabilit in part time schedules.
    6. Needs to pay attention to people who have earned raises.
