    Pros

none, last insurance company to work for. Number one for years in Bad Faith claims handling.

    Cons

Treat you like a slave, benefits such as health care high. Family life is non existent. No time for a vacation. The number one insurance company for bad faith claims for many many years. Unethical.

    Advice to Management

    Allow unions

    Pros

Good benefits, partial work from home allowed

    Cons

Overworked, can't keep the tenured people. When i left they kept giving more work to you with no additional compensation.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to separate the departments again. People can't be expected to do it all- settle injuries, settle total losses and keep up the customer service.

    Pros

A lot of vacation time. Some of the people are nice, and helpful.

    Cons

the managers suck, they are emotionless to an tragic event that may have happened in your life, its like oh well, what about your numbers for this month. the pay IS NOT up to par with other insurance companies for all that is required of you. no flexibility in work schedule.

    Advice to Management

show some type of empathy. the hartford is loosing GREAT people, and its like you don't care. that door will continue to revolve, and you will continue to spend money on training, just to have people quit. we dont feel valued at the hartford.

    Pros

    There are no pros.

    Cons

Pay sucked, the other employees talk about you even if you never speak to them or you are kind to them, people lie, adjusters are mean to callers proving the steriotype about adjusters is true, they will lie, yell, and try to make people say something happen that didn't. they belittle people on the phones. I will never work in the industry ever again let alone for this company.

    Advice to Management

This company is so messed up no one can help them. clean house and improve the culture. It is disgusting.

    Pros

Good training program for new hires

    Cons

Employees are treated horribly my management. Everything is micromanaged to the nth degree. Under paid compared to other companies I would never suggest this place for employment.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Corporate needs to examine the way this office is run.

    I worked at The Hartford

    Pros

I'm still thinking. I guess there's something but not coming to mind. Things are not what they appear.

    Cons

Don't let them fool you, these people are always partying so yeah eventually you do work hard. Training was awful. Trainer was too busy gossiping and wasting time so a lot of training was cut out. Call coaches would gossip and tell stories about your classmates. Call coaches grade with their mood, not objectively. Made the mistake of asking for help, didn't get it. I should be sorry I'm not there anymore, but I'm just not.

    Advice to Management

The real joke is on you. 90% of my class and classes after mine are completely miserable. Make training much more like the real experience.

    Pros

None, a mistake to go there from day 1

    Cons

While home recovering from a heart attack and by-pass surgery, I was told I was being fired because I had not been there long enough to be entitled to long-term disability. I was told this on a conference call with my wife also on the line. Suddenly someone on their said took them off the the line and they 'would allow me stay ...", our guess was the lawyers told them I would have a 7-figure law suit ready in a week. SLIME! I feel like I need a shower even talking about them

    Advice to Management

Awful, horrible people. Shame on all of you.
