    Pros

Flexible schedule. Good work life balance. Management is understanding. Great benefits. Plenty of PTO days. Room for career growth and advancement.

    Cons

Don't interact with co-workers often. Workload can be a bit overwhelming at times if you don't manage your time properly. Not enough company holidays.

    Pros

-best training program in claims for an insurance company
-good benefits- above average paid time off, good 401k match, health ins, lots of discounts through other companies and discounted insurance rates
    -casual work environment
-tons of opportunities to move into other positions within company

    Cons

-salary is lower than salaries for same position at other companies
-not much room for growth from here within claims department
-I think the workload here is more than that of people in the same position at other companies

    Advice to Management

Department management doesn't seem to have a very good grasp on the day to day life of people in this position, the workload is extreme and no one seems to address that they are aware of it

    Pros

There is room for growth here and the benefits are good. Medical was recently increased but that is not a surprise.

    Cons

Like many public companies, The Hartford is attempting a "shrink to grow" approach which sees little rehiring with natural turnover.

    Advice to Management

Do more to retain top talent.

    Pros

Smaller Insurance Company. Steady volume so job security. Great claims managers who work with you to overcome problems. Pay for performance structure makes you strive to do your best. Reasonable metrics that can be met.

    Cons

The appraisal process is a bit slow which leads to customer complaints. You have to help others I. The department if they can't keep up which means if you are good then you will have to do more work.

    Advice to Management

Have a trial process and let people know that up front that if they can't handle claims after 90,days of training and are constantly bsehind, they should be let go sooner vs later. Keeping bad people just hurts everyone else.

    Pros

Good atmosphere. Coworkers are helpful and willing to assist with questions. Good Benefits and paid vacation time. Potential for bonuses.

    Cons

Pay scale not that competitive within industry. Heavy workload and lots of micromanaging. The quality team that reviews completed work can be nit picky and vengeful.

    Advice to Management

Quality should be more of a teachable moment instead of "gotcha" Agents don't respond to cheesy incentives and it can be quite embarrassing.
