    Pros

This is a high morale field sales office. They place a value on learning. The cubicle setup gives you your space & the comraderie at the office will certainly lead to friendtly interaction over the walls. Worth looking into.

    Cons

Should have explored more career opportunities within organization. The office has big turnover, so be prepared to be in contact with colleagues as they move careers

    Advice to Management

Continue the inclusive behavior with all cultures. Continue welcoming & celebrating festivals/observances of all cultures in office

    Pros

Great Training, Great benefits, Opportunities to advance in the company, Good pay.

    Cons

The Hartford really is a great company to work for and it is hard to say a Con, because if you aren't happy as with any company make another choice. A person's attitude determines their altitude. It's a choice to come in everyday and give it the best you got and if you give your best The Hartford will reward you. Any cons can turn into a pro.

    Pros

They recognize the need to provide a career path for staff and are deliberate about doing so. They work to understand customer needs and set their structure accordigly.

    Cons

Tbey do a good job of developing people but there are limited higer level positions. The more skilled people get the greater the challenge of retaining them.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing people but create roles to retain them when there are no openings in traditional higher level positions.

    Pros

-best training program in claims for an insurance company -good benefits- above average paid time off, good 401k match, health ins, lots of discounts through other companies and discounted insurance rates -casual work environment -tons of opportunities to move into other positions within company

    Cons

-salary is lower than salaries for same position at other companies -not much room for growth from here within claims department -I think the workload here is more than that of people in the same position at other companies

    Advice to Management

Department management doesn't seem to have a very good grasp on the day to day life of people in this position, the workload is extreme and no one seems to address that they are aware of it

    Pros

There is room for growth here and the benefits are good. Medical was recently increased but that is not a surprise.

    Cons

Like many public companies, The Hartford is attempting a "shrink to grow" approach which sees little rehiring with natural turnover.

    Advice to Management

Do more to retain top talent.
