    Pros

They work with your schedule, so it is a great job for college students. A lot of opportunities for advancement. Great health benefits (even for part time employees).

    Cons

Hands on job a lot of lifting and standing/walking all day. They move managers a lot so not a stable leadership and focus.

    Advice to Management

Go in get your money and graduate school. They pay more than other part time jobs and I have learn a lot from working with the pro customers. I recently graduated with a BS in Engineering.

    Pros

You can work extra hours. Co-workers are good people. Training is good if you take advantage of it. Good stock benefits.

    Cons

Pay is low for amount of work required. Under-staffed. Customer service focus is a pipe-dream.

    Advice to Management

Have a plan on how customer service requirements relate to understaffing and amount of stock work required.

    Cons

its a hardware store so expect not to work in a clean environment (saw dust, wood shaving, etc). MET team starts at 5am. tedious tasks and occasional projects. you get bored fast.

    Pros

Your co-workers will become some of your closest friends. The garden department is like my second family.

    Cons

Sometimes there is a lot expected of you: workshops, normal day-to-day duties, stock shelves, customer service, etc. But you are given pitiful raises annually.

    Pros

Helping others. Customer Support Doing projects for customers. Who are not quite comfortable with the DIY process. Learning new skills daily.

    Cons

No, air conditioning worked in a store were we have 110 degree days. Never scheduled for all the hours on call all the time. No, follow up from team members or managers No, consistency from team members or management. At the end of the day no one is on the same page so you go and go and go till it's time to go home. I was hired as a part time permanent electrical sales and 18 days before my 120 days employed they sent me a letter telling me my last day was the 15th. Which was 18 days away and that my temporary position had come to an end. Then it was just my luck I suppose they did not report my wages to the state of Oregon so I am not eligible for unemployment benefits. !6 days should have been 30 now my family will suffer.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time educating yourselfs with the staff on hand instead of always telling them "I DON'T KNOW".
