    I have been working at The Home Depot part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great store, great managers, great co-workers, and great customers! The job itself is physical (walking, lifting, etc.) and mental (problem solving), so you will never be bored. Training is computer based (so you can learn at your own speed) and on the most part very interesting (there do inject humor here and there to lighten the mood). I would like to stay here until I retire if I could become full-time. Great place to work!

    Cons

    Home Depot is a large company. There is little local control over the inner workings of each store. Part time employees' hours are cut during slower times. Pay compensation is ok, but it is hard to advance to a better level.

    Pros

    Good Pay and bonus structure, great company with a clear vision, given tools to succeed and a good place for advancement opportunities.

    Cons

    Long hours, changing shifts, and inconsistent or lack of involvement from district team

    Work life-balance and make sure your DM's know what they are talking about and are able to teach and train.

    Pros

    Many benifits, 401K, life insurance, Heath insurance, discounts at many other retail stores, ther are also flexible with other jobs or school

    Cons

    Hire rate, you really do have to work, coworkers getting fired for not working, customers not always the friendliest

    Awesome facilities (gym, dry cleaners, food court, pharmacy), a lot of young professionals, great part of town

    With such a large, complex organization, I would have benefitted from a more detailed description of the different business units when I started

    lots of opertunity to move within the company to other positions or locations. lots of in store training available.

    benifits are minimal for part time employees. getting time off may be difficult. work hours may change with minnimal notice to employee

    At this Company you are unique individual who is value for your skills, performance and great customer service, it allowed me to put my broad-based retail and business operations, sales management, HR administration, asset protection, and customer service experience into play. Throughout my career, I have constantly acquired substantial success in optimizing productivity, streamlining continuous improvements, obtaining fast-track promotions, and achieving sales and profit growth. At The Home Depot I was able to find ways to create values, I was recognized by my CEO Mr. Frank Blake personally and a letter from him I keep dearly close to my heart and also by Divisional President Ann Marie Campbell on a couple of occasions had received her recognition personally last one the week before I was let go. and also received from my District Managers in numerous occasions same level of recognition al together contributed to increase my true Loyalty, and dedication to the Company it mean more than moneys paid, it was a take home I can not thank you enough for that Home Depot.
