    Pros

Customers who come in daily, to stand in line to get their coffee and a friendly smile from exhausted employees.

    Cons

Employees who don't care because upper mgmt don't care about anything but lining their pockets. Labor constraints, where you have to cut corners just to make it through a day.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring more people to sit in your offices. Stores need labor hours to run efficiently. Let stores get cleaned properly. Filthy, need painted, landscaped.

    Pros

I really love my customers. Each Kangaroo you go in seems like a family. The relationships between customers and employees are awesome.

    Cons

This company does not care about anyone. They lose a ton of awesome employees because they throw you around to different stores and do not give an option of wanting to transfer. The part-time hours suck. Management is all over the place. Seems like the District MGR and Regional MGR do not care about lower level employees. Too much is expected and not enough praise.

    Advice to Management

A choice should be given before you transfer an employee. Treat good employees with respect and keep them happy.

    Pros

Only for the desperate. Pantry expects to give low hours but for your job to be your priority.

    Cons

Single coverage, low pay, no appreciation (but they will "write you up" for things you haven't been told to do). Revolving door for most employees. The Pantry cares only about having "warm bodies." Really good workers are treated the same as terrible workers. If you try to get a raise, be prepared to get fired!

    Advice to Management

You have some really good people who are ignored. Stop expecting every employee to be good at EVERYTHING.

    Pros

Benefits for mgmt team. Weekend off and vacations time IF you can work it in with your labor guidelines.

    Cons

Very long hours, always short handed due to labor constraints. Employees want to do a good job, and work in a clean organized store. We feel frustrated in having too give something up for "making labor". NO communication from support center, we seem to find things out after the fact. New monthly promotions always wrong 1st day or 2.

    Advice to Management

Go into other convenience store and see what is working for them. Copy that, don't just give us the less expensive version. Pay and part time hours and raises for new hires are all bad. Full timers with insurance take on a more this is my store attitude than a tired part timer trying to juggle 2 jobs. Large stores need to be run differently than low volume.
