I worked at The UPS Store

    Pros

Flexible hours. Locally owned franchise. Laid back atmosphere.

    Cons

Unless you are in high school, or fresh out of high school, the pay probably isn't enough. That said, they don't advertise it to be. I had very few complaints working there. Getting enough hours was probably the biggest issue.

    Pros

All of the employees and the owner are very friendly. They encourage you to gain further education. Their customer service is outstanding.

    Cons

Sometimes it is very busy and very fast pace. I enjoy that but some may not.

I worked at The UPS Store full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

My store had an excellent owner and general manager, who really knew how to give customers a service experience that would keep them coming back, without doing so at the expense of the associates.

    Cons

As with any retail business, some of the worst experiences can be dealing with difficult customers, whether they lack basic knowledge of how shipping operates or perhaps are just confrontational.

I worked at The UPS Store as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

The pros are immense. An atmosphere of self-accountability and autonomy was promoted. Management was always willing to listen and promote employee participation. Opportunities to grow professionally were present. A dedication to an employee-friendly environment was advanced.

    Cons

The cons were minimal My experience was a mostly rewarding one. The magnitude of the traffic would render key players unavailable when i needed them, but that was expected based on workload demands.
