I have been working at Thomas Cook

    Pros

Some of the complaints we receive are brilliant, like people looking for compensation because the weather was not always sunny.

    Cons

the only downside i would have is that the pay is not that great for a complaints department. If they put it up it would be so much better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thomas Cook is a great company to work for but we need a pay rise soon or every1 will leave for better paid jobs,

I have been working at Thomas Cook part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

At present the company are going through transformation and I would describe this transformation as almost complete and very successful. For my current stage in life the company pays me a fair wage and as sales consultants and we have high earning potential in regard to commission. The main pro of the commission structure is that it creates a fun, competitive although team working sales environment in which all of us work together to deliver excellent customer service as well as outstanding sales on all of our products. This is another advantage of working for TC in comparison to other travel company's, the products we sell. We have an ostentatious range of products and this makes every day different.

    Cons

There are very few cons with working for this Thomas Cook. I feel that sometimes there can be worry at work with individual stores futures. I also feel that there should be more opportunities to travel with the company to experience some of our great products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice to management would be to increase the amount of educational trips and training courses available to us as Sales Consultants. So far the change of senior management has been good for the company and I think we are heading in the right direction as one big Thomas Cook family. I would like to progress within the company also, so perhaps I would advise management to make more opportunities to me and others wanting to work our way up available to work our way up.

I worked at Thomas Cook as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

every day is different, you live in lovely hot places, the team working environment is hugely satisfying and rewarding. You have a great social life meeting all kinds of people with different ages, race, opinions, and all get along like a family as you are all working towards the same objective of delivery outstanding customer service and delivering an unrivalled holiday experience.

    Cons

The days are long some times very long ! hours can be unsociable working through the night if on a shift with a delayed flight. Managing customers expectations can sometimes be very difficult especially when they are dissatisfied with their booking. The salary is poor, commission is continually re structured so you earn less and less and have to sell more and more to earn a basic living.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider better pay scales for night shifts, increase commissions for high priced trips, incentives for high achievers or for non lateness and no sickness. Full attendance for a whole season with high customer service scores and good sales should be recognised as well as a financial incentive or maybe a free holiday for the outstanding colleague.
