    Pros

    - Great people, very social
    - Fantastic experience in travel/online

    Cons

    - Not many opportunities for career advancement
    - Lacking in long term strategy

    Pros

    Free Accommodation.
    Working in the sun .
    You gain experience working within a demanding market and customer care in extreme situations.

    Cons

    Poor pay for the responsibility.
    Resulting in not being able to keep good members of staff.
    The commission rates are not transparent therefore the employees are demotivated.

    Advice to Management

    Carrot and the stick policy does not work when you have nothing to lose when the pay is so poor.
    Sometimes the experience provided of working abroad is not worth the hassle you get on the job.

    Pros

    The company is in a transformation stage and definitely on the right track. New senior management have defined a vision for the future and are committed to delivering it.

    Cons

    Business units tend to work in silos and frequently display "sibling rivalry' traits. There is a constant power battle at middle and senior management levels.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the concerns of your people. They genuinely want to embark on this journey with you but need to feel they are part of the team.

    Pros

    Large company, therefore provides great experience. Can move into different areas, including tour operating, retail, online, airline, cabin crew, or even overseas representation.

    Cons

    The company mindset is difficult to break. They operate on a 'you do it our way' only mentality, which limits creativity, and can be un-motivational.

    Advice to Management

    Keep in touch with your staff more. There are a lot of Board members, Directors and people in high powered positions, yet the people on the ground do not know who they are.

    Pros

    Nice place to work at; a lot of the people know what they have to do and what is expected out of them.

    Cons

    Compensation and Benefits are not that great and never clearly explained. No working from home option as management do not trust anyone. Majority of the office is filled with out-sourced people who know how to estimate and demonstrate 3 times more efforts and costs to the management. No collaboration between teams. 5 meetings happen simultaneously to discuss the same topic and the team that screams louder get their way in regardless if its the wrong solution and will take a lot longer to implement.

    Advice to Management

    Open your eyes see where your money is going. Surely your largest competitor who has a team of not more than 50 are doing something right to be on-track with a company that has been around for such a long-time.

    Pros

    Friendly colleagues, relaxed atmosphere, good travel perks, big company with lots of job opportunities

    Cons

    Clueless management, takes a long time to earn decent travel perks, old IT systems, poor levels of pay

    Advice to Management

    Involve ground staff more in decision-making process

    Pros

    Great travel benefits
    Good name in company
    Great product to sell

    Cons

    Too much pressure on individuals, esp when shops are short staffed and not replaced. There is too much you are expected to focus on at any one time and then they change the information they give you something completely different to focus on

    Observations and mystery shops staff do not like these and don't perform the best when they know they are being "watched" the introduction of video mystery shops will be the final straw for many staff and when you can't do you job from worrying if you will be caught on camera or scrutinised no one will perform to the best of ability.

    Targets stretching and over stretching and new performance objectives now brought in which once agin will probably get scrapped and something else brought in.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your long term staff on the fact they will do their job and not have to be continually monitored/ observed and have to live in fear of the mystery shopper.

    Support stores where they need extra staff and not give to much information to focus on.

    Experiencing places I might never been able to go to. Travelling the world.

    No full te employment. Contracts only.

    Advice to Management

    Start giving younger people full time employment.

    Great co-workers,

    Cons

    Too numbers focused
    Not enough marketing support
    No support from Senior Management
    Threats if performance is not at their perceived level. $50.00 revenue per hour is not a realistic goal in this economy or marketing place.

    Pros

    The people that work there are amazing! Everyone works as a team and tries to make it work.

    Cons

    The business does not always make the best decisions. The programs they use are horrible. Business structure is a bit odd.

    Advice to Management

    Streamline programs and work structure.
