Current Employee - Sales in New York, NY

I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of exposure to working with very well known clients. Allows you to see how tax/accounting and software/IT mesh. Inside Sales is a great place to sharpen any skills you want while learning about the company and industry. Name recognition is second to none, which makes "cold calling" a whole lot easier. Work life balance in relation to pay is phenomenal.

    Cons

The same ones typical of any large company in Corporate America (Changes in reporting structure, responsibilities, job requirements, can make it hard on new folks to adjust)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. I think they are adjusting well to customer and market demands.

    Pros

When you build your network things get a little easier. Good benefits. Ability to progress your career.

    Cons

Company is so big that there are specialized groups to handle only specific tasks which causes huge latency to get even a minor task completed.

I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time

    Pros

Encourages diversity, good pay, great offices, office culture is the best in all the places I've worked. The company cares about work/life balance, HR seems to know what they are doing.

    Cons

There is not a lot of advancement, I started in an entry level position and it takes a few years to be considered for promotion. There is not a lot of places to climb up the ladder. Granted, the company encourages you to flow in other business units.
