    Pros

The best reason to work here was the good pay, amazing co-workers, and flexible hours.

    Cons

There wasn't much really cons working here. But it did become quite chaotic at times. Also a lot of gangs like AlCapone hang here.

    Advice to Management

To find a better way to control the chaos during rush hours. It's very tiresome.

    Pros

    1. Somewhat hard to balance family/work but they are flexible on off schedule hours to compensate time off, which is a plus. 2. Medical insurance is A+ high plan is $200 per check for a family (2 or more, doesnt matter) goes down to $150 after 3 years on the company 3. Pays for licensing exams and has a great in-house library for study material, digital and hard copies. 4. Knowledgeable staff everywhere, reachable by email, phone or chat 5. Intranet keeps employees aware of TT activities, changes, and financials. 6. Management might want you to take tasks and responsabilities beyond your paid salary. Great for experience, but unfair not being compensated accordingly. This is both a pro and a con.

    Cons

1.Advancement most likely depends on who is your boss. 2. I guess it is easier to advance your career at smaller offices, big offices gets to harder to make a name of yourself 3. Salaries are on the lower end, but experience gain is amazing. 4. Unless a PE or AR, advancement seems limited. 5. Management might want you to take tasks and responsabilities beyond your paid salary. Great for experience, but unfair not being compensated accordingly.

    Advice to Management

It is great to give younger staff challenges to grow and learn, but compensation and advancement should go along accordingly. Company makes great profit, so pay better your talented and hard working staff!

    Cons

Long hours, while not typical for most jobs, can be the norm for some projects depending on client needs.

    Pros

    - Medical/Dental/Vision plans are great with great deductible and no premium. - 401k matching (half up to 7%) so 3.5% max. - Paid transit/wellness/PE exam and study material or course - Amazing technical resources (good in house spreadsheets plus experts of all facets of structural engineering at your disposal) - Powerful workstations - Latest software and a lot of programs available - Diverse portfolio- will be working on projects all over the world and all types of projects. - Paid OT up Senior Engineer level - Strong brand - The engineers in this firm are very bright, and they know there stuff. You will learn more in two years than most people will learn in five. - A lot of corporate benefits because of the size of the firm - Firm is very progressive and cutting edge and usually are leaders in new technologies

    Cons

    - A lot of office drama - A lot of turnovers among people with 4-10 years of experience. - Salary is on the low end - Top heavy, too many VPs and up - Because the company is top heavy, the VPs and up are only managing few projects causing them to micromanage. - Also because it’s top heavy the VPs and Principals have bosses too (Sr. and Managing Principals) so you feel the pressure from them even more. - A lot of brown nosing - Many people at rude and disrespectful - Firm has an up and out approach, if you don’t meet their “TT expectations” within a few months they will let you go. - Long hours mostly because they can’t properly staff projects because a Managing Principal, Principal, and Sr. Associate are all billing to the job. Leaving the producers, the Engineer-Sr. Project Engineers, overworked and underpaid. - Promotions are handouts thus resulting to a top heavy firm. - Company has about 12 engineering positions- way too many.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you doing, but slow down the growth. Promote less to prevent company from getting too top heavy. Promotion should weight heavily on performance and not just some simple checklist and meeting your year requirements. Also, reduce the amount of positions in the firm. 12 is way too many. Your competitors has only 6-8 positions. Makes billing a lot better and allows your employees to get paid more.

    Pros

Very collaborative between offices and within offices, exciting projects all over the world gives the opportunity to travel abroad

    Cons

The industry as a whole is lagging in compensation & benefits with tech and other professions along with the work/life balance in the AEC profession - not really specific to Thornton Tomasetti though

    Pros

High standard of design. Plenty of resources to enanhce your interest at work, like weekly seminars. Counseling with collegues located on different countries. Chance to expand own professional network fast and on 360°.

    Cons

Work-life balance: extra hours are paid, still it might be preferable to spend that time with family instead than working. The compensation is a kind of low, when compared to salaries of other companies in the same region.

    Advice to Management

    Revise the hourly tarif.

    Pros

Space to grow! Great community where your voice is heard, when needed.

    Cons

Pay could be better! Sometimes, new employees with similar background end up getting paid higher than the people that have grown within the company.
