    Pros

Company name on resume, good benefits, access to technical knowledge based on experience

    Cons

Poor salary, too much nepotism and unfair criteria for individual growth in the company

    Advice to Management

Go back to how this company worked and performed in the good old days

    Pros

Good employees, hardworking, well educated, and dedicated to their work.

    Cons

Lot of talk about how great the company is but doesn't translate to the typically employee. Across the country people are unhappy.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your staff.

    Pros

Many of the projects are high visibility for well known clients; good names and projects to have under your belt.

    Cons

Management does not manage the staff, projects or clients well. Staff is left wondering what they are supposed to be doing then to have last minute deadlines with uncertain direction. Working in this group is like working in a small shop with little hope for exposure to the wider firm or for growth.

    Advice to Management

Get managers with professional project and people management skills. Discourage the silo mentality and encourage more collaboration. Look around at what other top-rated companies are doing to retain talented people.

    Pros

Great database of knowledge in Highrise building design field.

    Cons

This company is cheap. The Senior Management get talented interns (J1-visa holders) from all over the world, who are ready to work 25 hours per day in order to be awarded with H1/B visa after internship is over. Later on you won't get promoted above "Senior Engineer" position if you can not lie all the time.

    Advice to Management

Watch out a quality of the design work done by un-experienced and ambitions youngsters. Pay attention to the design teams working on international projects.

    Pros

Very nice staff & great work environment

    Cons

Not enough growth within the company, offices don't collaborate enough, and pay is not great. No work life balance.

  7. Great projects but work is often undervalued and unappreciated.

    Pros

Projects are some of the best in the world in terms of innovation and global spotlight. Employees are very skilled and helpful to each other.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be very bad. Employees are often overloaded and then expected to prioritize unreasonable deadlines ahead of personal life. Compensation is not comparable to other firms, and overtime almost seems expected instead of appreciated. Overall, it's easy to feel taken advantage of.

    Advice to Management

Properly support the staff for deadlines to avoid burnout. The morale can be dismal at times. Consider better training and organization of staff, hiring appropriately to avoid overloading employees.

  8. Great projects and new learning experiences but overworked and lack of progression in compensation

    Pros

Projects are varied and interesting. Work with very talented staff all over the country. Depth of new learning is incredible.

    Cons

The work load is very intense and the compensation is not necessarily commensurate with the personal sacrifice to meet deadlines and project commitments.

    Advice to Management

Reward those who are working hard in the trenches or acquire additional staff to share the load. Focus less on sustainability, which adds cost to the company, and more on profitability which should translate in better compensation all the way down to the employees performing work. Compensate employees for overtime.

  9. Great experience/exposure but at the cost of work/life balance.

    Pros

    Great portfolio of projects
Some really great gems of people are scattered throughout the company
    Good resources
Opportunities to transfer between offices & practice sectors (pending economy & availability)

    Cons

    Sink or swim mentality
Culture may not be for everyone
Work/life balance is often a struggle
Culture/values/outlook vary between local offices (could also be a pro)

    Advice to Management

Remind Management as the company grows and becomes more and more "corporate" to not forget the "keep it real" values of the earlier years.

    Pros

Good people in a professional environment.

    Cons

No growth opportunities for support staff and lower pay than normal for what's asked of you.

    Advice to Management

Put more emphasis on helping talented employees careers blossum.

    Pros

1.There is a lot of variety in projects (though limited to high rise structures and stadiums).
2.Hands-on experience on big projects and you get very responsible roles which make you feel important and not just a someone working in the background.
3.You get to learn and put to use a lot of softwares used in this field.

    Cons

1.No training given. You will have to learn as you proceed ahead. That becomes kind of hectic.
    2.Very poor compensations/bonuses.
3.They don't pay as much as they make you work. Coming on Saturdays and Sundays can become a routine later on when you reach a higher post.

    Advice to Management

Very poor employee management. If you want your employees to stick around then please reward them appropriately for their work and don't just consider them cheap labour/resources. Don't try to make a person do the work of 2 people and pay him/her only for 1. Hire more or increase salary.
