    Pros

Large company with several resources. Excellent chance to work with different cultures. Superior benefits and overall great place to work.

    Cons

Lack of empowerment. German headquarters thinks they know best and often do not trust their own management. Often regional differences are not understood or embraced.

    Advice to Management

There are several top notch employees. Let them have a say especially in their own region. Be more customer focused. Too many internal meetings.

    Pros

Good overall first job. Fair benefits. Profit sharing plus 10% monthly bonus and overtime all add to the base salary.

    Cons

Training can be very vague. From what I hear raises are not that generous and not that often. Not too many cons so far

    Advice to Management

Be more hands on with new employees. I haven't trained with a manager at all and I have been training for almost 6 months. That is the only con. Overall the management team is very approachable and clear with expectations

  3. Great team support, culture takes some getting used to.

I have been working at ThyssenKrupp as a contractor

    Pros

Friendly and knowledgeable people who are always willing to help and support initiatives. Great overall experience and great opportunity to learn something new everyday.

    Cons

The German culture and way of doing business takes some getting used to. While in America you are taught that time is money, in Germany it seems to be the complete opposite. The culture of the business in America seems to clash at times with the culture of the German Global Headquarters.

    Pros

Large projects, fantastic benefits (401k, light rail discount, HSA), 5 weeks PTO.

    Cons

As ThyssenKrupp just completed a large merger, there are a lot of growing pains in the office. It appears, however, that things are changing for the better, or at least will be over time.

    Advice to Management

Information about new projects and company philosophy needs to be more transparent to regular employees.
