Entertainment industry (could be plus or minus)

ConsSenior management has no respect for their subordinates, which is reflected all the way down the corporate ladder. Prepare to be treated as a peon.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop spreading nice-sounding B.S. in corporate meetings and focus on implementing some of the corporate culture you profess to support.

Decent company that is not a not so great company.

Accountant (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsGreat benefits package (vacation, medical benefits, paid-time off, 401K employer contribution) and great perks. Got free tickets to concerts and local sports games. Laid-back work environment, not your typical corporate work place. Although I believe this will all be changing once Live Nation full integrates.

ConsRevolving door of employees and lots of instability in upper management. Many high level management getting canned or leaving (which isn't a good sign). Constantly reducing work force and having to work with new people all of the time. After merger work morale was very low as employees felt that they didn't matter and weren't being treated properly. The decent work environment was completely ruined and Ticketmaster/Live Nation is not a pleasant place to be anymore.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat employees with a little bit of dignity stop taking them for granted. You won't keep good employees if you continue to treat then poorly... bad employees = bad company/reputation. I don't believe that the future of Live Nation/TM will go well under current management.

Ticketmaster, once a decent company going downhill fast

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsBenefits include some free shows and ability to purchase tickets for popular events before they are available to public.

ConsThe company feels like it is in the middle of an identity crisis. The new CEO seems to dislike the company. He appears more focused on frontline then ticketmaster.

Advice to Senior ManagementDecide what your goals are and stick with the plan. Sean Moriaty did an excellent job as leader, since he retired, the company pretty much blows.

Watch out, there will be fierce competition once the economy turns.

Product Manager (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

Prospeople, parties, perks, benefits, location. Good company to further your career. Stop here for a few years then move on and make better money.

    ConsTicketmaster pays generally below market.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot sure if becoming a management company is the right approach. They may be taking there eye of the prize.

Good working environment... With low pay

Finance Assistant (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsBest for those fresh out of college. Lively, congenial, informal atmosphere with casual dress. Very tech-friendly environment where iPod and internet usage is neither scrutinized nor discouraged. Almost weekly lotteries give employees a chance to win tickets to local games/concerts. Highly social atmosphere and many company-sponsored events at LA hot spots (with liquor) before and after working hours. Getting time off is not a problem.

ConsThree words: Pay, pay and pay. You'll be paid peanuts compared to what you might get at another company. One's yearly review is mostly unnecessary since no decent raises are given -- whether you're the best employee or the worst. Outside of a lucky few in management, bonuses are largely non-existent. Even long-time managers have begun to leave Ticketmaster in droves.

Advice to Senior ManagementDinner and drinks at Red Rock will never replace a decent raise or a merit-based bonus. Don't pay Barry Diller $300M+ salary and have a famous architect design your New York headquarters but constantly nitpick the employees about the cost of a $1.59 pencil. Stop letting great employees walk out the door without even making a counter-offer; it shows that you don't value them. This is why your turnover is so high.
