I have been working at Toll Brothers

    Pros

I like the plant manager, safe work conditions hours of operation I can work around during the summer.

    Cons

Not enough money for the type of work that is involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training classes for up and coming supervisors. Have employees try new positions. (Cross training). Need a grace period for trainees. Overall I can see a bright future for the company and myself.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Company does a great job communicating, most people are left to do their job no micro management going on. I never feel pressured or stress, I have no trouble leaving work on time most days. Love he company!

    Cons

Office filled with women, they tend to be petty. Company is really behind in technology and processes could improve a great deal. Wish they had an HR person locally.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I love working for a Company that just gets it. "Toll treats employees like adults and trust them to do the job you hired them to do". This is an environment that people can excel and shine. A Great Place to Work.

    Cons

We should have more meet and greets. We are growing so fast that it is hard to get to know everyone.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Medical Benefits, 401K. I had a great set of co-workers to work with. Sales are good and there is a nice backlog.

    Cons

Low Starting salary which is not reflected in the Salary section on Glass Door. No training on process or procedures. Cam West was bought by Toll Brothers 3yrs ago and transition has been extremely difficult. Senior Management set's building schedules and under staffs the field. I chose Toll Brothers to switch my career path due to being offered the ability to build Quality Executive Homes. This did not materialize. Management settles on the lowest bidder, cheapest materials as well as "Production" schedules which are ineffective. You can shine at review time and yet if your not "One of the Gang" be overlooked for bonus or promotion. I witnessed a Senior VP throw his hardhat across a vacant lot, throwing a temper tantrum like my 6yr old. Unimpressed with the Seattle Division. Cannot recommend for a career choice. Finish the Land Development first, then start the homes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up. We are all professionals in the industry and want to produce the best product for our customers. There is a reason you hired your staff. Support them. Give them the tools they need, the Vendors who have the same drive and desire to achieve excellence, and staff your field up.

I have been working at Toll Brothers

    Pros

You are in the field, working with the parent company, Toll Brothers.

    Cons

TBI Mortgage's upper management is run by sadists, only worried about their own jobs. Felt like area reviews were meant to break down and humiliate instead of looking for good ideas. No input on the people working under you, but you are judged on their performance. No concept of it is like to work in the field. Horrible experience, don't ever work there. You will need to start taking anti depressants or Xanax every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Toll Brothers management should take a hard look at TBI CEO and his minions.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I've been with Toll Brothers for almost 10 years. I feel like I've built trusting and collaborative relationships with my peers and senior management that makes coming to work feel more like coming to see my friends and business partners. Toll provides a lot of autonomy in most cases. I've had the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities over the years along with a promotion. My manager has always been supportive when I've needed time off and I feel a work-life balance is respected here.

    Cons

No company is perfect as we're all human but from my experience, the employees and management at Toll have the best intentions and we want to see each other succeed. I've seen countless employees get promoted here as a result of their hard work, many started in entry level positions and are now in senior management roles. It seems that Toll is competitive with their compensation plans, plus we have some fun perks like use of Toll Brothers vacation homes, I've stayed in a few myself and it's quite an experience.
