I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits are good and easy to manage. Other departments ither than mortgage seem to be enjoying themselves.

    Cons

There's a borderline gang mentality. If you're not in the clique, you need to watch your back. Stupidity and immaturity wins. It's embarrassing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TBI mortgage management vps are great at managing the chaos and CYA to keep things the same but will never improve.

    Pros

    The benefits were somewhat good

    Cons

Training was poor, was extremely difficult to get time off for family, the company structure was not conducive for growth from the sales side

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the structure so that the sales side has the opportunity to grow upward and in to upper management positions.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's hard to think of a pro here. I would say the only pro is that you have a constant stream of business coming in from the builder (Toll), however that pro turns out to be a con. "Toll wants their cake and to eat it too"
    Benefits are fair to good.

    Cons

Too many chiefs, very top heavy with too many senior management roles. Old school mentality. Technology challenged. Isn't run like a mortgage company. Comp plans are unfair. Too much ego, not enough "get-it-done" attitude. Turnover is outrageous, over 50% this year alone. They feed lies to their employees and give false expectations to any new hires. You have been warned!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check your egos at the door!

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time

    Pros

Learning that a name behind a company means nothing....the people could make or break a reputation of a company. Learning leadership is a value that can not be generated with salary or title. Learning that people value themselves proving there is an 'i' in team. Learning that perks are not a free lunch...there is no such thing as a free lunch.

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Organized chaos. Bully behaviors in the whole company. Inflated egos and not caring about the customers or the salespeople. Without them management wouldn't have a job. The commissions are nothing short of a joke. Selling a million dollar home and it would be lucky to pay half the grocery bill for 2 weeks. Mandatory meetings without pay driving with traffic after a long day is a crime. Guess a corporation is not fearful to be sued. The benefits? Have a job to lose everything else in life....is that a benefit? Unless you are willing to play mean girls or men in a locker room becoming so ugly with jealousy...this company in this state will always be forever known as a bunch of crooks ruining the name behind the man who started the company. They don't care about anyone but themselves...lower and upper management will throw a baby under a bus just to walk over them and get their afternoon coffee faster. Breaking laws is a common practice on so many levels. If a tester gets hired, resume/references/dedication shines and a good-looking woman....they'd hit the lotto.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's a job. It's a professional career. Grow up. Jealousy isn't a good look. Learn it's a working environment not a competition or a locker room to bully and humiliate your team. Dragging down a person doesn't build anyone up. Learn about self respect so you may respect others. Learn salespeople are the heart of the business, without them you wouldn't have a job. The board members want numbers, well let sales do their job and sell. Instead of treating them like slaves to jump up and down, in circles for hours for nothing short of entertainment purposes and instant ego booster. Have meetings with a purpose of having a meeting; and not a weekly mandatory meeting just to see our faces after a 10 hour day of organized chaos and having to drive long distances in to it. Leaving customers without a way to buy a home...losing customers losing company numbers. Chasing tail is the name of the game with this company. Compensation improvement? Selling a $3.5 billion home and walking away with $100 check should be a crime. Giving credit where credit is due is something a good manger would do. Learn personal accountability and not ask others to lie or cover up for you. Learn integrity.

    Pros

There is not one good thing I can say about this company

    Cons

Corporate does not care about employees at branch locations unless they are looking for another job. You can and will be fired for having a resume posted to a job board. Massive lay-offs every November after close of fiscal year in October. Employees Christmas bonus is given to a charity of corporates choice. Benefits are below average. Training is specific to location working at and not tranferable.

    Cons

Management treats all employees the same which is poor

    Pros

Cares only about making money. Uses poor quality materails and wants things done fast rather than well. Shows very little integrity in business dealings. Makes promises knowing they will break them.

    Cons

Does not care about employees or customers. Cares only about its completely false image. Asks an awful lot of employuees but most get back very lilttle while the guys at the top make out swell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink your whole business model. start caring about quality, not just adding money to the company coffers. start treating employees as human beings with lives, not just as a means to making more money.

    Pros

Let me start out by saying this is a review of TBI Mortgage, a subsidiary of Toll Brothers

Autonomy, no one is over you neck seeing what you are doing and monitoring every phone call that you make.

    Cons

They completely lie to your face regarding compensation and pay. Multiple people were told they would make over $100k. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! At best you can make $60k all the while being constantly stressed. They do not give you the resources nor the support to be successful. They will give you a pipeline of 80 loans and then tell reprimanded you for not "speaking with costumers". I have worked at 2 different banks and one broker shop since the new regulation of 2008 and this is the lowest paying company in the industry. You make $100 per loan....let me say that again you will make $100 per loan that you close. If you are lucky you will have 2 team members who can do the same and then you can make $300 dollars. They dangle other bonuses you can earn and give a base salary that a librarian can make and then tell you that you are being properly compensated. This place is a joke I am so glad I left and I hope anyone out there stays clear away. This company lies and you will be stuck in someone else's mess and then get yelled at for not being able to clean it up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If I was Toll Brothers Senior Management I would scratch the entire mortgage company and place their faith in another reputable bank who can actually deliver. I am sure TBI Mortgage drains their bottom line and is absolutely wasting shareholders money.

I worked at Toll Brothers full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There were a few nice co-workers.

    Cons

I was a property manager at Dreshertowne in Horsham, PA, and I accepted this position after ten years with another organization. You feel as though you must walk on eggshells around everyone, because there is so much gossip and ill--will amongst employees, who should be working together as a team. Employees undermine each other, and upper management does nothing to create a healthier work environment. Additionally, upper management is very unreasonable with work load, way too demanding and hard on their employees. They are not knowledgeable about the day-to-day operation, and spend way too much time nitpicking every little detail, in the midst, loosing the big picture. Regional manager, who is new, instead of working with the property manager, constantly undermined her. Nasty comments They have no respect for their employees or their customers. If you have other options for employment, go for it, but, whatever you do, do not work for Dreshertowne in Horsham / Toll Management. Horrible!
