Tolt is a great company but Quantity over Quality causes customers and team members to suffer.

    Pros

Decent pay, great team player mentality among employees, clean work environment and overall not a terrible place to work.

    Cons

Higher Management seems to be more interested in #'s on a piece of paper rather than how the total System works and it's ability to perform. As a consequence there is a disconnect between expectations are and the actual ability of the team to provide the customer with a clean and solid product on time. Basically productivity over quality.
No advancement with in the company.
Employees don't feel valued at all In reference to there work or contributions to the overall quality and flow of the work environment.
    Pay increase almost non existent.

    Advice to Management

Needs to Work on communication and organize quality over quantity importance. If the customer is that important the you would expect there goal to deliver a solid product every time on time.

    Pros

If you need to learn technology in the grocery or other retail environment.

    Cons

Asked to do work but no overtime. Large number of defective parts come from depot.

    Advice to Management

Dont live in the Wall Street bubble by looking only at numbers. Employees and customers are real people.

    Pros

Company vehicle, gas card, lap top, and cell phone

    Cons

Zero overtime, constantly asked to work days off. Hardly getting 40 hours a week. Raise was 20 cents after 2 years.

    Advice to Management

Start completely over with everything. Respect your employees more. People do not work for pats on the back and "good jobs". Need a better raise/bonus program

    Pros

    Full Time employment and Flexibility

    Cons

    Poor management from Top Down
CEO is concerned about himself and not the employees
    Expensive benefits
    Crab in the barrel Mentality
Very Low Moral and dissatisfied employees

    Advice to Management

Stop posting surveys and start implementing some of the suggestions
Show some appreciation for your employees
Take some tips from your competitors on how to survive in the POS industry
Rake through some of your long time employees with a fine tooth comb. Everyone hanging around for 10 years is not always a positive asset for your organization

    Pros

Company vehicle, gas card, laptop, cell phone, mainly work weekdays, paid travel time, customers appreciate you

    Cons

No rise in pay like it should be for good workers. Told that we are over paid now as of lately. Completely unorganized chaos at all times with all projects with all customers. No training of any kind, no documentation of any kind for most project work. Outsource most all jobs nowadays. No way to make up hours if no projects available. Forced to take unemployment when this occurs. Benefits costs are now outrageous after a few years working here. Nowhere to move up and no hint of how to.

    Advice to Management

You should respect your good employees that take care of your paying customers well and provide some form of a raise on a yearly basis if the CEO claims we are doing better every year in his wonderful videos. Otherwise, try to keep people around better. Your turn around rate is dramatically horrible.

Great customers and hardworking employees, that are not treated well.

    Cons

The culture has been one of customer first most of my time with Tolt, it has changed to one driven by the bottom line

    Pros

they have "aquired " a rather large database of training resources to reinforce their training ie. HP/Dell/NCR materials so you can usually figure out the fault of the equiptment and not look totally foolish to the customer. Sometimes you can even get a more senior engineer to give you pointers.

    Cons

dont plan on stopping for lunch my first year there I stopped 26 times for lunch (not that I could really afford to) both SLA and financially . Learn to be comfortable with the phrase Non Compensated Overtime as it might come up in your legal discussions after you leave the company
expect mgt. to use the idea of cost of living as your raise. overall I made less real money the longer I worked for them.(inflation)

    Advice to Management

start do more proactive training not reactive training for the projects you take on. ie. if you get a service or deployment contract make sure that the people that are expected to do the work atleast get some training more than the day before rollout, have parts-tools onhand the week before so they can be issued in a timely manner. just because mgt knows about the upcomming events shouldnt rank and file deserve the nod?

    Pros

Company car-work from home-pay check never bounced

    Cons

where do I start, they really just need to look at there techs as an asset and not expendable. After reading previous reviews I cant believe they have not been sued yet for making hourly technicians work OT with no compensation. I left because I didn't like the direction they were going and it does not seem to have changed.

    Advice to Management

if your smart, at minimum do what ever it takes to retain your good employee's. they are not expendable. your skating on thin ice not compensating for OT, look at what happen to NCR, yep they got sued and LOST!
