Current Employee – been working at Toshiba America Business Solutions
Pros – The people I worked with, were the Most Respectful People I have ever had the pleasure to work with. AE's, Team Leaders, an AE Managers.
Good money if you are a favorite of Management
Cons – POOR POOR POOR Motivation
Disrespectful Senior Management
Problems NEVER solved
Behind Close Door Deals
Favorites Played
Commission favoring
Non Payment of Commissions
NO CARE FOR PERSONAL SITUATIONS
Senior Management DISRESPECTFUL to Women
MICRO MANAGE
Not telling the truth
Advice to Senior Management – This is and has been an HR's worst nightmare, and will only continue to get worse when the next group of AE's leave. They have lost so many extremely talented people, and they just continue to leave. TOSHIBA USA>>>> GET THE PICTURE>>>> TURN OVER IS BECAUSE OF EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT. No one wants to work for a disrespectful, micromanaging, non trust worthy and selfish executive manager.

Former Employee – worked at Toshiba America Business Solutions
Pros – - Salary is comparable with the industry
- Great people to work with
- Some departments have great teamwork and reward their employees, but not all
- Close proximity to Toshiba corporate and laptops division, lateral opportunities, cafe
Cons – - A very political atmosphere.
- Many VP's out for themselves, rather than benefit the entire organization
- Many VP's have an entitlement type of attitude toward other people. Although the President and VP's of the company describe an open-door policy, if you use it, you will be punished!
- Odd atmosphere. You have your employees which have their way of doing things for the last 20 years, with no room for change. Then you have the VP's and executives who openly talk about a free flow of ideas from anyone, but discourage this type of behavior in guidance of lower management.
- Some departments have great teamwork, but this is not the norm. Teamwork and collaborative thinking to solve problems is highly discouraged. I applaude those managers who were brave enough to do the right thing.
- If you are doing a good job, you will never know it. But you will know it, if you do a bad job.
- Every form of communication and every step you take is closely monitored. I don't know how anyone can work like that.
- Employees often keep quiet for fear of losing their job. And those who do voice their opinion, not complaining, but looking to improve the departments and company as a whole, are punished and blacklisted.
Advice to Senior Management – Trust your employees and bring back teamwork. Study the "best places to work" ranking to find out why employees are so happy elsewhere compared to TABS.

Former Employee – worked at Toshiba America Business Solutions
Pros – - Compared to the industry as a whole at this time, probably one of the more secure companies to work for
- Free soft drinks and coffee
- Medical, dental and vision are good quality
Cons – - The constant mind games and dirty, disgusting politics. More than most organizations.
- Childish & unprofessional management tactics, perpetuating childish tactics by the employees.
- Company's values try to portray themselves as a "think different" type of company, but in reality is a very "do what you're told" type of company.
- Thinking outside the box is very difficult here.
- HR is often in management's corner on virtually any employee issue. Complaining about a manager could get you written up. Complaining about another person's policy violation could get you inadvertently fired.
- Few managers if any tell their employees they are doing a good job. Positive feedback is rare, but negative feedback is very common. Management by fear is commonplace.
- If you've seen the movie "Office Space", then you are prepared to work here.
- Small errors in your work are not learning experiences, but potential reasons for termination. Fear of mistakes or failure, for fear of termination is common.
- Most employees seem to be locked in a "mediocrity" type of attitude towards everything. They seem to work just enough to not get fired, but not overly so to express a positive enthusiasm towards their company
- This company, to me seemed to squash every ounce of individualism from me and my co-workers during the time I was there.
- Virtually everything you do in the company seems to infringe on a secret or underlying agenda, or just ticks someone off.....so walk carefully!! This includes any type of christmas ornaments or potluck ideas.
- Family is not allowed in the hallways, and god forbid, not near the cubicles. This violates some type of underlying insurance policy, which no one seemed to produce or define. Yet this rule does not seem to apply to management.
- Gray walls in this company are meant to stay gray. Any types of ornaments or decorations is definitely forbidden or looked down upon.
- Fun is a four letter word to this company, so beware!
Advice to Senior Management – Give people the truth about the position and the company culture upfront, in the interviewing process. If I had known what this company was truly like, I wouldn't have worked there.
