Great company with Flexibility

Consultant (Current Employee)
Boston, MA

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time for less than a year

ProsI like the flexibility Towers Watson offers on a day to day basis. Also, due to the growth in clients we are apart of solutions that are new and innovative. There's definitely a challenge working here.

ConsThe downside is its not recognized as a "leading" consulting firm. Also, the salaries are well below industry standard.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to stay competitive.

can't believe this company was given Forbes rating for most admired company - what??!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time for less than a year

Prospay and benefits are actually alright, but everything else is so bad that it doesn't matter

ConsUnfriendly environment. No training whatsoever at the start. 'On-boarding' process is non-existent. Strangest experience I've ever had at any job in my life, no one tells you anything and you're completely on your own, no one talks to each other in the office at all, very sterile and unfriendly, I really made a mistake taking this job.

Advice to Senior Managementtrain new employees a little bit, it would really help

Great client base and colleagues

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
San Francisco, CA

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time for more than 5 years

ProsTW is highly respected in the market with a great reputation for client service and excellent work.

ConsSales and billable hours goals are high and very challenging to meet. Managers insist they are possible, but I'm skeptical. Work life balance is a challenge as well, although this is true in the consulting industry in general, and not unique or any worse at TW.

Sharp people, best in benefits consulting industry - very conservative industry

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time for more than 10 years

ProsWork/life balance, care about strategy and research, careful about work quality, well known and positive brand among clients and business in general

ConsLimited in how much positive impact you can have on your clients business (this is an overall industry challenge), Towers Watson rewards CEO and top execs extremely well over many years (ie options and a soaring stock price have made top execs very wealthy) but this does NOT get shared even down to the Exec/Pricipal level (Level 50)

Advice to Senior ManagementBring back Employee Stock Purchase Plan and other programs that share the wealth with those who are winning and leading client work
