I worked at Towers Watson full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    1. Nice work environment with free fruits once a week.
    2. Some company organized events such as 5K run;
    3. Professional trade shows and educational opportunities.
    4. Nice packages when they layoff a department.

    Cons

It all depends on the people you work with. Some managers needs to get more training to be better managers. Overall I do not have anything very bad to say.

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are a large number of smart and helpful coworkers at TW. Always willing to help out. The benefits are decent: Matching 401k, Pension Plan, PTO, flexible work from home scheduling.

    Cons

The work can be very rewarding and help with career growth, but there is a lot of it. A lot of reviews have quoted an excellent work/life balance but I don't see it. Hours each week range from 45 to 60 on average for most it seems. And for others it's even more. Many people work weekends and nights to keep up.

The pay scale is awful. Some people are paid quite well and others are underpaid. It's largely based on who hired you and when and it's very hard to "catch up" with salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more help for people to keep up with their workload. Offer a better salary and base it on merit, not solely years of service with the company.

    Pros

Benefits are good. There are very little management training offered to the managers.

    Cons

The roles are not well defined in the organization. Managers need to develop their skills in management.

    I worked at Towers Watson

    Pros

Very hard-working and intelligent people. The company attracts great talent and great clients. It is a very welcoming place for young people to start their career.

    Cons

Compensation, work-life balance, and exposure to different departments. If you love happy hours and drinking with the boss, you will like it here. If you want to do your work and enjoy a healthy work-life balance, then reconsider. There is some favoritism to those that can blur the line between work and personal life.
