    Pros

You can work from home a couple days a week. Pay is not bad.

    Cons

Management has no concept of resource allocation. The amount of work you end up with is pretty random based on resource shifts and employee changes. You could be on one client, or three clients.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and their concerns because currently you don't.

    Pros

A network of smart people and a web of connected consultants with resources to reach most large companies.

    Cons

Work is regimented and the actuarial billable hour culture exists. Too many meetings and not enough free thinking and questioning of the status quo.

    Advice to Management

Make the pay gap between the top 10% of performers much higher than the average performers.

I worked at Towers Watson full-time

    Pros

Amazing co-workers Gain a lot of knowledge/experience Lots of client interaction

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth Annual salary increases are not much Sick days and vacation days are not separate - all comes out of your PTO

    Advice to Management

Listen to the feedback of associates below you. A lot of the time, you will make terrible decisions and it's because you do not always see what happens on a daily basis.

    Pros

Flexibility, People, Free pop, Offices are nice.

    Cons

Stressful, High work loads, low pay, not much room for growth as far as income. They like to give you work opportunities that have higher responsibility but you don't get compensated. I'v moved up in jobs and in band levels and did not receive a raise. Mangers don't get paid more than other associates. There is not much incentive to move up or work harder.

    Advice to Management

Fairly traditional cubicle, cost-cutting work environment. People are generally career oriented here.

    Pros

Casual attire allowed, most people are career-oriented and pretty bright. Downtown office location is nice and near public transit. The name of TW carries weight so it's a great resume builder.

    Cons

Seems you need to seek out your own responsibilities and growth opps, as the professional development and career guidance provided is minimal, at best. Feels very hierarchical/top down. People seem to be promoted to manager status without training on how to actually manage people. It looks like there is no advancement track for individual contributors besides moving up in management, although I could be mistaken on this (see comment about minimal career guidance).

    Advice to Management

Lead by practicing open, respectful communication and by encouraging input and contribution of employees at all levels.

    Pros

good pay, good teamwork. good benefits, little travel. Good for people coming out on college getting a start in their carriers needing the experience because they have a good training program.

    Cons

They pay is in salary, so the hours are often long. their busy session is near Christmas. It seems this company has more leaders then workers, this makes it hard to set priorities when your working with multiple team leads, lead developers, and project managers..
