Multi-National organization with huge upside

Senior IT Project Manager (Former Employee)
Torrance, CA

I worked at Toyota full-time for more than 5 years

ProsLots of opportunities to work in different areas.

ConsThere is a large contractor work force, and the actual employee work force is small in comparison. This means that there is quite a bit of fluidity in the environment, and there are many times where knowledge has not been properly transferred.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure employees have the proper background/training for the function they are performing.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great Company just watch your back

Warehouse Associate (Former Employee)
Cincinnati, OH

I worked at Toyota full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGood pay, Benefits Good work life balance.

ConsManagement doesn't listen to associates if you are by yourself. A lot of brown nosing. When you have a problem they have a person you go to who lives out of town called a 'HRC". This person goes from facility to facility listening to everyone's complaints. Kind of like a union steward with no union. An employee of the company. Who does what the company wants without listening to real facts! And they don't adhere to their non-retaliation policy! You might when your first round, but you will be a marked person after that! Believe me !

Advice to Senior ManagementThe associates are the back bone of your company Act like you belief that. everyone in your management crew are not good managers. Some are real bullies!

I have been working at Toyota full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGood pay, above average benefits, good work environment without repetition of doing the same job for the entire shift.

Cons2nd shift hours are not good for family life, actually a split between 2nd and 3rd shift. Not a good start time or end time.

An okay place to learn the auto industry while surrounded by dumb people

Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Toyota full-time for more than 3 years

ProsIntriguing corporate culture has a lot to teach the world about planning and achieving a plan. The Toyota Way is a very valuable process

ConsYou could learn the Toyota Way in a case study at business school. Most of the day-to-day work is mind-numbingly boring.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring the Toyota Way into the 21st century- focus on delegating authority and reducing the number of layers of management
