Fun place to work but gives you little free time.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us full-time

ProsIt is a fun place to work where you can deal with a variety of customers. Its also very rewarding seeing the exciting look on the children's face. The team members are fun, happy people who become like a second family.

ConsLittle free time, Recovering can take forever if you are on the closing shift (especially in a super side-by-side Toys R Us/Babies R Us. There is also very little encouragement or fun things the company does.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe selective with hiring

ProsAverage pay, low turnover, low oversight from upper management

The have alot of work to do to get back to the good old days

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Toys ''R'' Us full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGreat working relationships, great to see kids faces in the stores. Great selection of toys and gifts for all ages

ConsThe main decision makers and even the CEO are dollars and cents people have no grasp of the differences between customers at Toys R Us and Babies R Us. They expect to treat customers at both stores the same. Also, there is a big inconsistency between managers in different parts of the country

Advice to Senior ManagementTRU needs to do more to bring the customers back into the stores. Bring back Baby Fest to Babies R Us. Do more and have event in the TRU stores

Seasonal Sales Associate

Cashier/Sales Team Member (Current Employee)

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us part-time for less than a year

ProsReasonable job for college students. Pretty straight-forward.

ConsSell those batteries, credit cards, and the buyer protection plans. Sell sell sell. You have to ask EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER that. They go through employees like they're napkins. Can't really get attached to anyone. Oh and working in a Toys store ... beware not of the kids but their mothers.
