Current Employee – been working at Trading Advantage full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Solid place for anyone who has strong sales skills or who is willing to learn them. Please keep in mind that I mean that you can sell when people are not overly willing to buy. I've worked in multiple corporate sales jobs before and realized that most salespeople don't take the practice of selling seriously.
This position has you selling relatively expensive items over the phone, so you have to be very good at presenting the value of your services. This is NOT a good place for people who want an easy job. It is NOT easy, but it is definitely a good place for people who don't like being average at anything they do. The leads are not always extremely warm but they are not general lists either. We only call people who have responded to an advertisement. We are not calling "qualified investor lists" or "small business owner lists", so if you cannot get business off of targeted leads I seriously doubt that you would do well here.
In other words, you have to want to win, you have to be competitive. It's basically like any serious sales position where you are paid to perform well. We are not the only company offering trading educational services, so it's not like selling something that no one else has. You have to promote the benefits of what you sell.
I started as a trainee, quickly worked up to consultant, and am now a manager. That's in 2 1/2 years. I've been a manager since late 2011, so you have an idea of what a self-motivated person should achieve. Any person who is highly motivated to succeed in business will do well here.
Cons – Hours are long if sales are not coming in. You have to be willing to put in the time to hit your numbers. I admit that I don't like working late but I hate not reaching my personal work performance objectives much more. It's a tradeoff that you have to accept if you are going to be good at what you do.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep looking for new ways to expand our client base. We have a great product and we can offer it to a much larger audience than we do now.

Former Employee – worked at Trading Advantage full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Legitimate 6 figure income potential, high-energy upbeat work environment, cool coworkers. You get to work at the CBOT for a respected name and learn a tremendous amount about trading. I started my career in the futures industry here and was able to make connections that allowed me to advance quickly.
Company outings and vacations also help make it an overall fun place to work.
Cons – Workplace can be intense at times. Everyone is expected to work hard, and longer hours are occasionally required. Although stable, compensation is commission-based, which isn't for everybody.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire more staff for back-office functions.
