    Pros

Lots of different areas to work in whether you're into marketing, finance, underwriting, operations, technology or event planning.

    Cons

Some areas of the company are a bit clicky, but then again, you're likely to find that anywhere.

I have been working at Travelers Companies

    Pros

Great company. Great benefits. They're willing to reward hard workers.

    Cons

Heavy volume, but nothing that isn't manageable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Metrics are less important than customer service. Insureds care more about responsiveness than our own internal metrics.

I have been working at Travelers Companies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Leadership is supportive, training is excellent and simply the best people in the industry. You will be challenged to give more than 100%, but will be rewarded accordingly. If you are a coaster or union type person, this is not the culture for you. Pay for performance measures are fair.

    Cons

Health benefits are decreasing which is typical for all large corporations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None

I worked at Travelers Companies as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great company culture, expect to not work more than 40-50 hours a week. As an intern, they ask you don't exceed 40. IF you look for work, they'll give it to you and you're not doing busy work. I had a good relationship with my manager and team.

    Cons

Sort of a polarized crowd age wise. People were typically 20-30 or 50+. Very conservative culture.

I worked at Travelers Companies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits and overall culture. I believe it has a good upper mgmnt team.

    Cons

Slow to move on it initiatives. The folks in the Hartford office seem to like to have their employees local therefore it shuts out job movement opportunities for employees working in other sites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open Up alternative work week. Be open to hire for all positions all over us. Not just Hartford..
