    Amazing

Project Manager (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThe flexibility of being able to work remote. Also working for such an Historical Company. I enjoyed working with many different people, collaborating with cross functional teams. The Managers and people were great.

ConsMy Con was not being able to still work there due to the lay offs.

Advice to Senior ManagementI enjoyed working with upper Management, keep striving to make Tribune the best it can be

ConsLow pay and unorthodox hours sometimes makes for a difficult work/life balance.

one of the best jobs I ever had

TV Traffic Announcer/Feature Reporter (Former Employee) Indianapolis, IN

ProsIn the beginning, the people in charge took chances and helped me grow into something I never thought possible. That was and will be one of the highlights of my woking career.

ConsI think that some of the newer faces that came in to manage never fully realized or recognized that loyal employees are hard to come by. I fully believe opportunities could still be had for those employess if they really looked, but alas, it is quickly becoming a trend to always go the way of just one person's thinking.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow for growth to happen and demand it of your employees. They will respond like no other.

Large company with many opportunities to move upward.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat growth potential and recognition in the industry as a top media company.
Like to travel? They have many investments throughout the country.
Many of the business units are centrally located and positive work environments..

    ConsToo much micro-management.
The process can be slow for some necessary purchases and upgrades.
The downsizing craze of the past two years seems to be done or on the back burner for now.
But those that still have remained with the company feel insecure in their future.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust the people in your local divisions to know what they're doing.

    Great experience

    Account Services Representative (Current Employee)

ProsHands on experience and an opportunity to learn from veterans was a blessing.

ConsCompensation wasn't as high as it probably could be. Loosen up the purse strings a bit more.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward hard working individuals a bit more.

    Great people but worrying future.

    Software Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsThe people at Tribune are great. The projects are challenging. If management navigates the current uncertainty well, then there is a lot of opportunity here.

ConsUncertainty about the future of the company. The company emerged from bankruptcy, took on considerable debt to acquire a large broadcasting network, then started the process to split off publishing. There is plenty of work that needs to be done, but management seems reluctant to commit to projects under the present circumstances.

Advice to Senior ManagementChart out a set of future projects so employees do not feel like there is nothing after the current project.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
